Knocks, Knocks, Who Will Be Watching?

I got the wife on the phone right now... of course i could swing the extra $15 or ($7) a month but i just don't wanna get stuck with having to pay for it every month they are always trying to stick us with these packages and we are already paying close to $100 a month only reason i have DTV is to watch my dolphins games on the ticket and thats already gonna cost an Extra $300 or so starting this month... but i got her on the phone lets cross our fingers... lol....
Good luck man, and congrats. You should definitely be able to negotiate with DTV. Maybe you can get them to throw in HBO if you get Sunday Ticket.

I called Directv this week and setup an appointment for them to add a fifth receiver in my son's bedroom. The installer was really cool and after meeting me and getting to talking he told me to not go through with the order. He said that he gets paid either way but I should call and complain so I could get upgraded from my current setup, which is called a SlimeLine LNB 3, to a SWM 3. (They call it "Swim") He said that they will do it for free and after they convert me to the Swim system that all my receivers will only need one wire and I would be able to put HD DVR's in every room of my house. I thought it was pretty cool of the tech to save me money and get me the awesome deal.

NOW, on to what could benefit you guys from my recent call. The tech called into Directv to cancel the work order for today but I had to call in myself to get a refund on my credit card. While I was on the phone with Directv the rep. informed me about a promotion that they have going on right now. If you call in right now you can get HBO for 90 days at $1 a month, then after that it will increase to its normal price. The only obligation you have is that you have to keep HBO for 30 days and after that you can cancel anytime. So, the people who haven't ordered HBO yet so they can watch Hard Knocks can now do so for ONE DOLLAR.

DTV is awesome and I wish I could get it in my complex. Hell, he can probably get Sunday Ticket for even cheaper as well.

HBO is one of the best entertainment investments I have made. Entourage, True Blood, Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death, Game of Thrones, Hung, Veep, Girls, How to make it in America, and the list goes on.

I am a long time HBO subscriber ever since....

nope not really bro, we called and they couldnt match what we we're paying for the ticket last year andthe best they could do about HBO was give us $5 off of the $15.99 per month its gonna cost to get it... im actually thinking about calling back myself and either getting things staighten out or canceling the servise....

You sound like an add but, when I bought HBO, I started watching "Game of Thrones." We watched 20 shows in three days, and are looking for more. It was GREAT.

FYI, Palm Beach County Comcast just gave an intro offer of $10/month for HBO. No penalty to cancel. It's worth a call....

Thanks but, I cannot get Comcast on South Beach. Lot's of deals out there Phans.

Comcast, Miami Lakes area. $10 bucs a month, haggled it down from $20.

No contract, no fee to cancel. Month to month. BOSS!

Only took like 5 seconds for them to activate.

Keeping the wife away from HBO so she doesn't become addicted to one of there special shows, canceling HBO day after hard knocks is done.

Nevermind forget my last post!! i now have sunday ticket for free and i got HBO cinemax and showtime for $10.99 extra a month.... paying your bill on time every month for years.... pays off cuase now im getting pretty hooked up......
