Knowing now would you...

It doesn't matter...Cleveland has shown time and time again they don't get it...yes they get a late first, but they traded the 3rd overall pick to do it...after they wasted all those picks they
got from Atl. for the Julio Jones trade....They are throwing out the baby with the bathwater....

That is water under the bridge. This is a totally new regime. You can not judge them by the previous regime's mistakes. As a matter of fact, this move shows me that the new regime gets it. You are going nowhere without a franchise qb, no matter how good a running back you have.

The new regime has ZERO ties to the old regimes players.

I'm not sure where all the man Love for Lamar is coming from. He has shown flashes of being good, what nfl back hasn't? Just because he is a fin doesn't make him awesome. IMO we still don't have a starting solid back on the roster just two number twos.

Bring the hate lol

Of course I'd make that trade. Wouldn't think twice. Running backs are picked that high on merit. Very few don't pan out, minus devastating injury. Poor fit for Richardson and the Colts made an astute rescue. I'll default to where Richardson was rated 17 months ago and not fret too much regarding his results in a poor offense.

Besides, Richardson is barely 22. When we drafted Ronnie Brown he turned 24 as a rookie. I'm not a believer in the wear and tear aspect. Like so many other variables, there's too much happy adjustment toward wear and tear.

For me its not as much the love for Miller as the lack of seeing anything special on the NFL level from Trent. He hasn't done anything special. Browns F/O were most likely doing cartwheels after the trade. Will he prove me wrong? Who knows but right now would I trade Miller and a 2 for him? F___ No!

And you think they would. They got a first round pick for a first round talent player. D Thomas and a third? Really if they got a 1 st why would they want Thomas and a 3 lol

What this isnt Madden?

Sherman said Joe would throw every play if he had his way and looking back at the rushing totals for Green bay even after he left they use the running plays just to let the receivers get a blow every now and then. Tannehill is not Rogers but i think that's the direction we are going.
They let Reggie walk and did not go after Bradshaw or Turner in free agency so what makes us think they want a power back to pound the ball ?

i'm fine with Miller and Thomas assuming they improve their pass blocking and the OL gets better as the season goes along.

Yea I agree Trent has shown nothing an ordinary back could do last season with the proper carries.

TR doesn't fit our offense and I think Miller will be very solid for us, will not reach his goal but 11-1200 yards can be doable. First round picks for RBs isnt wise in the pass happy NFL. Im not sure he fits Indy's offense either IMO.

what makes you say he dont fit our offence ? imo he would have fit just fine , but if what you say is so then i guess we need to get rid of DT because he is suspose to be a bruiser , DT hasnt really done anything for us YET , but i think Trent would have been a good player spelling Miller in the bk field , but i do agree about a RB in the 1st rd but sometimes with a stud like Trent it would be worth giving up that 1st rder , even a pass happy team has to be able to run the ball when the weather is bad ( rain snow) ..

stupid move on Indy's part. I dont care what anyone says. If Mcgahee ends up looking similar, a first round pick is too much on the future. Indy screwed up. I dont think Richardson makes them better, it just means they filled a hole from a guy who got injured.

Richardson was a highly recruited HS player ...chose the best college football school in the country...started for them...won national championship with them...drafted 3rd overall by one of the worst run NFL franchises in the league and had no supporting cast. I suspect you will have a different opinion of Richardson real soon once he starts hitting holes left open by Lucks passing prowlness.

I truly hope Im wrong but we will see very soon...

The real question is how does a perennial NFL powerhouse obtain a #1 & #3 in 2 short years? If it was one of the bottom dwellers eh...but Indy?

I agree. Indy is not good enough to make moves like this. They need their draft picks. Also Richardson is not the type of back that will give the Texans problems and that is the team Indy must get past.

Irsay loves making a splash. But I see a lot of flash that is built on a house of cards.

People may look at his tweets and think the man demanded better protection for Luck after a blown blocking assignment by a RB sealed the game for us and that led to them getting TR. If you draw that simple of a line between cause, effect and remedy, you'd be missing the side of the equation that made Cleveland think TR was disposable for a 1st Round pick. On a team devoid of talent and faces, they just gave away the only real offensive talent (aside from a Cornfed) on their roster.

I think Irsay uses social media to paint a rosy picture to his fans. He makes himself look good on moves that required someone else to make them happen. Let's face it, he advertised the V Davis trade like it was about to solve his D's problems for the next 10 years. But it took us not wanting VD for Irsay to get him. How well do you think that worked out for the Colts?

While I question the timing, the Browns came out on top of this deal. The Colts were desperate because they failed to address this problem in the offseason. Their whole team is built around the QB. Without Peyton, they collapsed. Yet in one year they return to a formidable force with a Rookie QB? Please. This team couldn't tie it's own football cleats with Peyton out.

Look at their FA signings and draft picks. They've got a few hits and a lot of misses.

Now look at our FA signings and draft picks. We're finally doing it right. We're hitting a lot of balls out of the park. And yes, we're also missing on some. But a real team with real depth is built through a lot of planned moves with a great staff.

We won the game by a small margin, but those margins were carved out by better talent, better coaches and a better team. That is the difference in the NFL; inches.

Last year we lost at home. This year we won on the road. That's a huge swing considering we did not make the playoffs and they did while not loosing many players.

The Colts have Luck. We have Philbin and Co, Tanny, 52 other players and, now, Ireland.

They can have TR. We have a franchise.

Phins Rule!
