"The Green Bay Press-Gazette believes the Packers would only be interested in re-signing free agent FB John Kuhn for the veteran minimum.

Kuhn played 320 offensive snaps this season, 10th-most among lead blockers. He was also the Packers' primary third-down back and didn't allow a single sack in pass protection, grading out as the No. 3 fullback by Pro Football Focus. "I think there's several factors that really go into who to sign with, where to sign, what value to sign at," Kuhn said. "Those are things that you really need to take some time and evaluate before you just rush to any decision." Entering his ninth season, Kuhn would cost roughly $855,000 to be brought back at the veteran minimum. His future in Green Bay remains up in the air."

Probably dependent on how Lazor runs his offense. Philbin has said he doesn't need a fb

They are both west coast coaches and there is always room for a FB like John Kuhn in a west coast offense. Can lead on isos, pass protect, run between the tackles, and catch the ball. Good tough football player.

Ya not disagreeing with bringing him in. Def need a power back for the tough yards. Just saying that Philbin has stated he doesn't feel the need to have one to just have one

Kuhn is a tough SOB and I would welcome him. He's worth our money day 1 when we start regularly converting short yardage situations.

Joe was so right about not needing a lead blocker at FB. The team was excellent short yardage team.

His ability to pick up a blitz alone makes him far more valuable than Thomas. Who was that 165lb db that kept running over Thomas again?

philbin can say we dont need a fullback but we cant convert 4-1 by running the ball, we showed that all year. that year we had polite he was something like 15-16. we need a fb

Joe has turned the Fins into a finesse team and it is against my philosophy of how to win. Give a physical, blue collar football team...2012 Ravens...this year's Niners team. Plus, that style travels. Like it or not, we are going the other direction.

I agree. The sad thing is that it's not even a good "finesse" team! I just can't understand why Ross wants to keep Philbin.

Signing Kuhn would a huge get IMO, for all the reason stated above.

Little bit above vet minimum, no state income tax, and warm weather for an older FB body.

My childhood best friend is Kuhn's cousin. The Dolphins were a destination he was looking at before resigning last time he was a FA. Also, he went to the same college as Brent Grimes (Shippensburg, here in PA). Def could be a fit.
