Knowshon Moreno needs to be the starter

Not amongst those of us whom have seen Miller's play, objectively. Or those of us who learned that speed alone is not enough in this league (Ginn). Or those of us not claiming to see something that doesn't actually exist and then declaring this ambiguous ability as "it." As in, "the kid just has it." Whatever, some of you have been full of "it."

He HAS done it in a real game.

Were you not watching last season?

Goon you do realize that Denvers offense and ours was dramatically different last year! And this year as of this time we have 5 new guys on O-line ! And before Manning came to Denver Moreno had not done anything and was just about out the door! Sorry if I don't drink the koolaid just yet! I want to see more! And I really want to see more of Darkwa.

Moreno is a talented player. His career got off to a slow start, but he put up 1,500+ total yards and 13 TD's last season. He's doesn't have the burst that elite backs do, but he runs hard and smart with good balance and pad level, and he does the little things.

Moreno was the beneficiary of a system that provided him opportunity like no other back in the league. He took advantage of those opportunities and that experience should seve him well here in this spread system. Lets not pretend like he's anything more than the market determined, and let us not pretend that anyone here saw any more than current personnel evaluators in the NFL saw. Again, its my opinion that contrast will inflate his value here, but that he is OBVIOUSLY the best back on the roster.

Agreed. I believe it is very important to limit his touches and snaps. I really would like him to stay healthy for the entire season.

I don't understand why you're ignoring Moreno's strong play in Denver and Miller's poor play to date.

If we are all going to agree that the Cowboys D is avg at the very best, I think we can all agree Miller ran behind a avg o-line at the very best last year.

Let's see what Miller can do running behind this years o- line.

You didn't even have to watch all 10 of Moreno's runs to know who the starter should be.

The one run to the left where there was nothing there but Moreno gains yards spoke volumes. He avoids/Jumps Over OR around the first defender then cuts up the field hard for a 4 or 5 yard gain. Miller would have folded and taken the loss on the play. He's fast, but he has no fire at all.

Maybe someone needs to make him mad to increase his effort, but it appears that he lacks the "it" factor.

Moreno will start. Miami went into the free agent market looking for a starting running back. They paid for Moreno and after last night we're all glad they did. A tough savvy runner that pass blocks and has great hands. Yeah, he'll be on the bench! Miler will be an excellent change of pace. Williams looks the part also. DT is gone as Sherman or Ireland imo.

Agreed. Knowshon should be the go to back.
Miller has had more than plenty of an opportunity to impress and he has failed to do so. As has been said, Moreno showed me more last night than Miller ever has here.

We didn't pay much, and I think he clearly went out and won the job last night.

I still wish we had drafted a back, but I give credit to Hickey, he went out and got us a guy who is a clear upgrade over everyone who was on the roster, and he did it for peanuts.

What's up with him going "Hollywood" in the game? That doesn't sound good

Miller is going to be used in the passing game more IMO.

I certainly hope not, the guy cant catch. He drops way too many easy, easy passes. I was surprised by how good Moreno looked, I don't care about how bad Dallas' defense is because I'm not basing my opinion off stats. Both Moreno and Miller faced the same putrid defense and it was clear as day that Moreno was head and shoulders better than Miller. I had long forgotten what it was like to see a RB break a tackle. He broke more tackles in 10 carries than I've seen Miller break in a full season. As an OU fan, I've seen plenty of D. Williams, I think he would be a better option out of the backfield in the passing game than Miller. OU didn't use him a ton in the passing game, but he'll catch the easy throws and he won't give up once he gets contacted like Miller seems to do. I had high hopes for Miller going into last year but the guy just hasn't improved. Moreno's vision and ability to break tackles is going to be a major improvement on Miller, just hope he can stay healthy. Miller has the speed but he still doesn't break long runs because his vision and ability to get out into open space just isn't there. I still SMH at the run Miller had last year where he made a nice cut-back near the sideline and had nothing but open field to his left for a TD and ended up cutting back to the right, directly into a defender at the 10 yard line.

Is there anyone that thinks he shouldn't start after only one game? Because he sure convinced me pretty fast.

Same here I think even the Oline loved his power and determination to keep the legs churning and move the pile. Moreno needs to be the starter and Miller can be the change of pace back. I have yet to see Miller's speed bust one to the house.

Sounds like his head was in the game and unfortunately for his teammates it was all about taking care of the business of securing the starting role.

Little time for shooting the breeze.

I wish more of the guys on the team would adopt that attitude.
