Excellent news, he can be SAM while Kiko can be WILL. Timmons was a great pick up imo since he lets Kiko and Koa play their natural positions.

Oh great... so we are banking on Misi apparently....

He better be the damn back up option

As @AndySlater reported a few minutes ago, a source confirms to me that Koa Misi has agreed to restructure his contract.

Jackson confiirms it -Depth is fine guys - said it all along. Lets see the numbers.

SOLB still gotta be a priority in the draft. But it's nice to know he might be there in case. At least to take the pressure off a rookie.

No brainer. Was never getting cut with a 2+ million dollar dead hit.

This was always a restructure with a paycut and the opportunity for him to make most of it back based on games played.

If healthy, he is more than suitable to be the SLB.

Still draft a LB early

I fail to see why this move is negative in anyway 1) he still needs time to get medical clearance to play 2) it clears cap room 3) you've accomplished cap space while retaining a player who is a bit better than "just depth" if healthy and 4) you can still cut him if not health.

I mean there is never really a win, win, win, win in the NFL but this is as close as you get for now. I've always likes our LB corps with a healthy Misi better than without him, it was a lot like Hartline until there is a better option on the roster why just cut him to cut him.

If Miami can get Hassan Reddick at 22 . . . They have effectively solved their LB position issues.

Reddick/Timmons/Alonso . . . Misi to back up SLB, Mike Hull as the MIKE backup and Hewitt as the weakside depth.

Plus Reddick can rush the passer on third downs.

Then we can cry about Nate Allen, Byron Maxwell and Jordan Phillips on defense.

This is a whatever move. Meh is the perfect reaction. Had to be done I guess. If he's starting in week 1 then color me underwhelmed.

If healthy, Misi is decent. I hope it's for depth, though, and that the team is not depending on him as a starter.

I don't see a down side to this either. I think we just moved 'when we HAVE to draft a LB' down a round ot two with this signing.

I prefer a DE in the 1st round but I do have a bit of a man crush on Reddick recently. Him, the DE out of Tennessee, or Lamp are my 3 favorites.

More than anything, it gives them an option. An on paper starter in March and just that added confidence that they don't have to force a need at that position.

Doesn't take it off the table either.
