I'm glad that we won because it's always tough to win in the NFL but like a lot of fans, I'm disapointed in our defence and by no means I want to overeact but I don't understand how Koa Misi still a starter on this team. He rarely apply pressure on the QB, can't make any picks (0 in carreer) and do not produce sacks (3 in the last 2 years)....He's constantly late to react. What your opinion guys ?

I thought he had a good game yesterday....he was the best LBer we had on the field. Now Sheppard needs to be replaced ASAP!!!

He looked like the only LB that belonged on the field yesterday. That's not saying much. Agree he lacks any playmaking ability whatsoever. He's like Channing Crowder 2.0.

My opinion is we all have to breathe. Just breathe. Opening days, strange things happen. We went on the road, as the only AFC East Team on the road, and beat an inspired Redskins team. There are flaws, yes. Defensive line, Tannehill, injuries, however, we allowed no points in the second half. Miami has another week to really prepare for this season. They SHOULD handle Jacksonville.

Guy was clearly the best LB on the field, yet he is getting called out.

We won the game and the defense gave up 10 points.

We always talk about the team needing to learn "how to win" . . . I think we need to start talking about fans "learning to appreciate wins".

Misi played good and so did Jenkins. Sheppard played horrible. One play (not sure the quater, just stuck out to me) but a RS running back ran up the middle and sheppard literally had his arms wrapped around him and just let him go. So frustrating.

they found a way to win. there will be more ugly games.

I'm no expert but to me Misi seems to be the best LBer we have by far, though that's not saying much with this group. Jenkins to me is overrated. And its really sad that McCain apparently can't beat out a scrub like Shepherd. To be a great defense this season we need a player to surprise and become a stud. So far I don't see any signs of that hidden gem, though Phillips might be the front runner right now.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think that is the worst game I have seen from Jelani Jenkins in a Fins uniform. Was getting beat in coverage, was getting blocked about as easily as I've seen, seemed slower in his diagnosis than he did last year. Again game one, but it was a rough one for Jelani.

Great thing about this LB group is, when we go nickel, you essentially make Reshad the 3rd LB (ala Y Bell in 2008) and it kind of strengthens the group. But yea, it's clearly a weakness on this team.

It was, pretty bad game.

Merely wrapping up and tackling would have changed the game. Our play calling and offensive execution was horrible in the first half. PLEASE stop throwing WR screens and being cute. We should have been running our 2 minute offense all game. It's like we are scared we are going to hurt the other team if we cut our weapons loose. Please by all means, throw forward passes... but only when you feel like it.

As bad as the O was in the first half, the D did nothing to help themselves get off the field. The tackling looked remedial. Not wrapping up, tackling with shoulder pads and expecting contact to bring the runner down. Remedial football that reeks of a lack of fundamental execution.

Koa was at least near most of the action. And I will say this... when he was drafted, I noted here that from his college highlights he seemed to do a lot of tackling with his pads. He rarely wraps up on a tackle. That technique has yet to truly change. He is a shoulder pad tackler. He expects the collision to perform the tackle. That's why he always looks like he is making plays because he is always making hits. But if you watch the net result of his "tackling", the play usually continues after the hit. He needs help completing the play.

I've yet to see improvement in this area. Being in the play is one thing. Making the play is a-whole-nother.

So, all 11 of his tackles were of that variety?

Misi was solid, that's what you get from him when he's healthy. He was absolutely the best LB on the Dolphins defense yesterday, but he's just solid. No better, no worse. He is not a playmaker but he's not going to hurt you out there. He plays his assignments well, but I don't see instinct from him.

Jenkins was horrible yesterday, but it was one bad game, so not overreacting.

Shepard was horrible and pulled quickly for Vigil...let the rook play and see what he can do.

Sometimes, I swear. What game do you guys be watching.

One of the most overrated stats in the NFL . . . . and when you see three guys in the top 5, means Washington dominated TOP/plays and we couldn't get off the field on defense . . . which was the case early on.

Anybody who saw the game knows this team was sloppy on defense in that first half, missed tackles, etc.
