Kooch a HOF Finalist

I love Kooch! Played in the SuperBowl with a broke arm! What a team player! I do not think he'll get it. The 72 Dolphins are the Rodney Dangerfield of NFL history...NO RESPECT! Kooch should have been elected 5 years ago.

alas i fear i may be a while before Kooch gets in :( how Art Monk isn't in yet is beyond me as well

This makes me so happy. Kooch deserves to take his place among the greats, he's already there in terms of his accomplishments.

I dont get how John Madden could be in as a coach?....yes he won a Superbowl but he only coached for NINE years....many guys had many more wins and are not in....John might be deserving going in as a broadcaster, although the way he bungles the English language and repeatedly stutters and tells you what you just saw over and over gets real old....Boom, Bam...I would not put him in HOF if I had a vote. Madden=Overrated.

Kooch is a clear symbol of Dolphins greatness. I believe he is the only Dolphin to play on the '72 team and also with Marino.

Kooch deserve it but will be so difficult I think the guys who take a best options to make the HOF are Moon, Aikman, White, Madden and Zimmerman and maybe then Irving, I hope that I'm wrong 'cause I want see another 70's OL guy joined Langer and Little.

Maybe another player on the list that I don't know make the HOF

The other finalists are: Troy Aikman, Harry Carson, L.C. Greenwood, Russ Grimm, Claude Humphrey, Michael Irvin, John Madden, Art Monk, Warren Moon, Derrick Thomas, Thurman Thomas, Reggie White, Rayfield White and Gary Zimmerman.

Kooch should have been in years ago...But he played at a position that isn't glamorous...and he always has to go up against a good crop. Aikman, Monk, and Reggie White are a hard bunch to go up against in the voting. And Madden could go in...He still has the highest winning percentage of coaches with over 100 wins...and a Championship.

3rd Time the Charm?

The Bills Guard was elected 2 yrs ago before Kuech and he never sniffed a Super Bowl....IF not this time Kuech tell them to stick it up.....well ya know?

Madden should be in as a coach. The length of time he coached should have nothing to do with it. Getting into the Hall of Fame is about a period of DOMINANCE not a long period of being pretty good.

In 10 seasons as Raiders coach Madden went 103-32-7

In all but one of those years the NFL played a 14 game schedule. Take away his last year of coaching (the only season he coached a 16 week schedule and the average yearly record for the Raiders is 10-4.

He took the Raiders to the playoffs 8 times in 10 years, going 9-7 and winning a Super Bowl.

Remember, that record was put up during a time when two of the most dominant teams in history (the Dolphins of the early 70's and the Steelers dynasty from the 70's) were in his conference.

If any coach belongs in the Hall of Fame it is Madden.

ON TOPIC:

Kooch should and I'm betting will go in this year.
