The Trio were pretty quick to scoop up Kory Sheets from the 49ers practice squad when Patrick Cobbs went down. We know Sparano loved Cobbs and used him quite a bit in the wildcat.

I know we also have Lex Hilliard but I see him as more of a STs coverage guy and emergency RB than a wildcat weapon.

Sheets on the other hand is a fast and shifty back at 5'11 208 lbs. with nice open field skills and good hands. His blitz pickup may be his weakness but that shouldn't be an issue if split out wide, or used on reverses in the wildcat.

I'm also expecting Sheets to take over Cobbs's roll on KRs.

Anyone else expecting Sheets to surprise...maybe be used on some trick plays vs. the Saints???

My understanding is that Sheets is supposed to be pretty fast. I know Williams has been doing great running to the flats, but isn't Sheets supposed to be faster? If so, than some trickery with a reverse or simple running to the flats may make him an effective weapon.

i think we should have re signed london to block on the wild cat plays since he was a good blocker and so was cobbs

I see sheets as the KR more than anything else in the beginning'

Bess isn't a bad blocker by any means. But Hartline is clearly the better blocker.

When you go to the games and watch them peel off the line going downfield, which television doesn't show, it is quite clear that Hartline is the best blocking WR we have.

LONDON was better than both of them put together. He used his size, and blocked like a demon out of Hell. You should've paid more attention. But here's the proverbial "silver lining": all of our WRs except GINN are very solid blockers--and even he will throw his body in there, and give it his best shot. We fans don't always notice and/or appreciate, but I'll bet our HBs all do!!!

Unfortunately as to LONDON, they couldn't re-sign him now, because COBBS is a change-of-pace HB/KR, and LONDON is neither of those. We'd still be missing a change-of-pace HB and an important piece of the Wildcat.

I'm not sure when, but I do expect Sheets to take Cobbs role both in the Wildcat and on KR's.

does anyoe have any stats for sheets from college and a pic of him?

I know he ran a 4.45 in the 40 at the scouting combine. His senior stats were:
234 carries for 1,131 yards (4.8 yard average) 16 rushing touchdowns, caught 37 passes for 253 yards and 1 touchdown reception

We are really going to miss Cobbs Blocking as part of the Wildcat, I dont know much about this new player, but he better be able to block.
