RSS is a family of web feed formats, specified in XML and used for Web syndication. RSS is used by (among other things) news websites, weblogs and podcasting. The abbreviation is variously used to refer to the following standards: • Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91) • RDF Site Summary

You see all those orange "XML" boxes next to stories in the Herald and SS? It's part of RSS feeds. If you have a home page like Yahoo or Google that posts stories from you like news from CNN, ABC, etc., you can add others like the SS and Herald. Essentially, what this guy is saying is FH does just that on the front page.

yeah...rss is a feed for the site that allows you to look at the headlines from the front page & the topics for recent message board posts in your browser or via and rss "reader"....i use firefox and you can save "live" bookmarks in your favorites. Now when i open my finheaven bookmarks folder i see the latest headlines in there. Clicking on a headline takes you to the article on finheaven. It's just a convenience....REALLY handy. There are also seperate programs you can use to read rss feeds. Do a search on google and a ton will come up. I find it most useful to use firefox and do the live bookmark thing. Internet Explorer 7 will have this functionality too. But IE blows anyway.
