"I was astonished," he said Monday. "If there ever was a single-game performance that could serve as a launching pad to turn around the fortunes of a team, that was it.

Got his mailing address? I will send him a dvd copy of the game so he can eat his earlier words against the team.

but he was right... why would he have to eat any words...

did you read the article?

yes but still no excuse for his degrading comments the two weeks prior. And it's easy now after the fact to say that he said those things to kickstart them with those comments

but they were true...and HE has earned the right to say whatever he wants...I didn't like what he said either, Bob does that sometimes, but at the least step back and realize it was truth, not nice, but the truth.

I'm with JT, he can kiss my you know what. He has earned a right to say it, sure. Doesn't mean he has to or should. Saying a team has no soul cuts deep man, deep.

My momma has pretty much earned the right to slap me across my face in public (I'm 29) for any reason ... doesn't mean she should do it and doesn't mean I'll like it nor does it make it right!!!!!

He's still taking shots too

It was a pretty good team, unlike this one.

we aren't...more truth, and besides, he was giving GREATER honor to THIS team by the comparison....

Yeah I know we aren't that good. Who doesnt know? That's the point. But could he be more gracious sheesh. At least he's a self admitted bitter old man.

Giving greater honor in a backhanded way. "They were good. You suck. So your feat is more incredulous because you are totally horrible." Gee, thanks?

Oh well, enough about him. Let's talk about how we are gonna win the next 8 games and make the playoffs. He is so last week.

I like what he said. THe phins did need a good kick in the *** to get them fired up. I think he knew what he was doing.

Don't get it twisted he did not do it to light a fire under anyone and he doesn't claim to in the article.

When you're 1-6, you deserve to be kicked," he said. "The Dolphins seemed to be mailing in their performance, and it changed yesterday."

Is it me or is he trying to take credit for this win in a round about way?

"They went into the big, bad Bears' house and took it to them." He said the upset was bigger than Miami's defeat in 1985 of the Super Bowl-bound Bears, who were 12-0 when the Dolphins beat them on Monday Night Football at the Orange Bowl.

"The '85 Dolphins team was not struggling along," he said of the club that was 8-4 when it faced the Bears and later lost in the AFC Championship. "It was a pretty good team, unlike this one. In terms of a dramatic turnaround, I can't remember one" that was bigger.

Nice read man! Thanks for the link
