Kurt Warner weighs in on Dolphins QB search

Unless there is major renegotiation done real soon.

Dumbo ears...he needs to get them bobbed. lol
Nice interview, Kurt was pretty much explaining conventional wisdom.
I am hoping Manning will chose Miami...that would be fan..tastic.

The big question is do Ross, Ireland and Philbin all want Manning or is it just Ross?

$28 million is a ton of money on the Colt's cap. How are they supposed to pay for Andrew Luck and the rest of their guys if they have to pay Manning $28M??? They would probably need a lot of players like Freeney to restructure their deals.

I think its pretty clear he will be released and become a free agent on the 8th. It was a messy situation between him and the owner a few weeks ago, i doubt he will wanna go back there. Basically its all new people there in the front office, there will be a new head coach and theyre drafting Luck 1st overall who will be expected to start from day 1. I honestly do not see the Colts paying him the 28 million to keep him with Luck going there to be the future of the franchise.

So...in my opinion Manning will be a free agent and then its just a matter of if hes healthy enough to play. Manning will get big offers (i dont think mega deals cuz of age and injury) from several teams and he will have the choice of where to play. I like our odds based on some of the things ive read about how he has a house/condo in S. Florida, he was a Dolphins fan growing up, he respects Miami for always playing hard, his wife loves florida (supposedly and anyone whos married knows the wifes opinion means more than yours, lol). Ive read a few times he would like to play in a warm weather city but idk if that was him who said it or some analyst speculating. I also think we have alot of good pieces on this team that Peyton Manning could bring the best out of.

Think about how Peyton Manning makes nobodies look like pro bowlers...think about how much better Marshall and Hartline would be. Davone Bess would instantly become like Wes Welker. Fasano would probably look awesome....Clay and Reggie....

I also think our defense will be a selling point too. With a few upgrades at a few different positions i think we could have a hell of a defense. We need to upgrade in the secondary (fs, ss and maybe another legit corner) and we also need another beast pass rusher cuz Wake cant do it all himself and our DEs didnt seem to apply to much pressure at least i didnt feel like they did.

i agree so much but can we get FS, CB, OLB, RT this offseason on top of manning? i don't think we need SS with Bell and Jones.

I can't imagine anyone on the planet who would not want manning on their team if he is healthy enough to play. Well unless you have brees, rodgers etc.

If Ross wants it, Ireland and Philbin will want it also.
Not neccessarily true Nubs. We all know Ross wants Peyton, but Ireland&Philbin may want Flynn or Tannehill, or even Robert Griffin III, but because Ross is their boss, they'll push for Manning first. Now if we do end up getting Peyton, i hope we draft Tannehill with our first rd pick, then go from there.

If Manning comes to Miami first, then leaves without a contract, you can expect Matt Flynn to be the guy at midnight on the 13th with the first FA visit.

Aaron Rogers has said that he thinks Flynn will look at two spots where he fits. Miami and Seattle.

Ireland controls personnel and will appease his plea for Manning and you better believe Ross will be in the room. But if he leaves town, Ireland will have already moved on IMO. He knows what he wants and Manning would fill alot of void on this team, but Flynn might give us more in terms of Philbin being able to take charge of his team. If we miss on both, then Ireland's love in RG3 could very well come into play. Having taken the HC's player and Ross's guy in Manning first, then he will have met their desires and nothing will stand in the way should Ireland want to trade up. No trade up, Tannehill is next with possible trade down. Thats the progression I see. If Seattle gets Flynn, then Ireland can trade down with more confidence that he can still get T-hill.

Well, Miami hired Joe Philbin to bring Green Bay's culture to Miami, and signing an aging, injured veteran quarterback is not a move that Green Bay would make. The teams that will not want to bring in Peyton Manning are those that actually want to get a long term guy at this position. Peyton's health is still an issue, but even if healthy, he will at best give you 2-3 more years. It is not an ideal situation. Plus, if you go with Peyton and go all in to win now, you are basically ignoring the long term future of this position. That means in 2-3 years when he is done, Miami will be right back in the same situation.

I can't speak for anybody else but for all of the years that I have been watching the Dolphins after Marino retired I will GLADLY take 2-3 years of potential dominance then continue to HOPE that (insert 2rd qb or FA) name becomes the man..
