Kurt Warner is one year younger than Trent Green. He is backup quarterback for Matt Leinart. Kurt Warner had a passer rating of 89.3 while Trent Green had a rating of 74.1

if I could just have a brief explanation, it would be greatly appreciated.

dude weird thread....explain urself a bit better....and no thanks to kurt warner....are u kidding???

As far as washed-up old hasbeen QB's go.....Kurt Warner IS better than Trent Green! :err:

....but I wouldn't want either one of them on MY team! :shakeno:

Nice choice of selective stats. Here is another random selection of stats that are of no value by themselves: Trent Green has over 6000 more career passing yards.

Now, regarding a comparison between the two, Green has only missed games in one season in his six as a starter in KC and that was because his line was far worse off than ours. I remember somebody on these forums predicting he would be knocked out of a game because of the ridiculous hits he was receiving. Warner hasn't finished a single season in that entire time.

As for the QB ratings, you chose one year. Green was averaging about a 92 rating before the concussions last year.

He isn't the long term answer and he isn't meant to be, but he is a hell of a lot more reliable than Warner. Also, 2000 provide a good comparison between the two. Check it out.

Warner is another player who has never been the same since suffering concussions. If it can do that to a two time MVP what will it do to Green? I'd rather get Tim Rattay for free if we are going to pick up a mediocre starter. At least he doesn't have durability issues.

I believe you are mistaken. Warner's injury issues were in no way related to any concussions. His play has suffered from a broken finger on his throwing hand, a groin injury, and a MCL tear. Actually, I can't remember Warner ever having a concussion problem.

Over the past 5 years, Green has been FAR more consistant and FAR less injury prone. It took a hit that would kill some people to knock him out for a few games. Mediocre? That would take some proving. The guy averaged a 92 rating for 5 straight years before suffering from a decimated line that made ours last year look like the Hogs.

To me, it's obvious that the plan is to bring him in as veteran leadership as we groom a drafted QB. You need consistancy and reliability in such a situation and Warner provides neither, while Rattay has only proven he can be a reliable back up. I would rather a rookie QB learn behind Green than a never has been Rattay or starting too early when Warner gets benched or injured again.

didnt kurt warner fumble like eleven times i think and only played like how many games ????? no thanks
