He is stationed onboard the USS Kearsarge in Norfolk, Va. His ship is 5 piers down from mine. He will be on the ship atleast another year. You want me to email him and askem when he will officially be back?

I remember when he was at the academy and running into him at bars in downtown annapolis, If I remember correctly he was banned from like 3 bars

what ever info you can find on him would be great I just remeber the army navy game his last year just running people over like a freight trainI thought than an still think now he would be a Mike Alstott type of back

Aww man, we have to wait another year for Kyle Eckel? Is this confirmed? He can't play NFL til the 2007 season?

I know he wouldn't beat out Fred Beasley, but he'd probably be a better backup FB than D. Barnes.

Aww, nevermind. Found this by Ohiofan:

Eckel was a promising FB out of the Naval Academy we picked up from NE. He had been allowed to play while completing his service committment. Once with the Phins, he was ordered to full time duty and was placed on the military reserve list.

In days past guys like Roger Staubach had to do 4-5 years before coming into the league. Now a player can do two years of active duty and 6-8 years of reserve dutEckel was a promising FB out of the Naval Academy we picked up from NE. Dang, I was thinking Eckel could back up Brown, Morris, and Beasley in case KayJay or Riggs are both on the practice squad. That way, we'd only need 4 RB's per game b/c Morris and Eckel could probably both play HB and FB.

Now that I think about it, Brown is a great blocker too. It'd be like having 4 FB's on the roster with these guys. Maybe Riggs and KayJay can learn to block better from these guys if they mentor the other RB's.
