Kyle Eckel

I got to see him play several times last year. I don't know how he compares to Heath, but at least at the college level, Eckel was the real deal. Extremely good motor, never stops driving. Soft hands and more wiggle than you would expect from a guy 245lbs. Also, excellent blocker with good speed. I believe he will add good depth to our FB position.

I thought when you went to the service academies you had to serve a couple of years of service when you graduated? Guess not. I saw him play ND at the meadowlands last year. a real good ball player. My son got excited because his name is Kyle and every time you heard the PA annoucer he was always saying Eckel's name

yes, he still has his Navy commitments, but it may not interefere with the nfl season. besides, there are some Naval stations that he could be assigned to that are in South Florida

He was one if not the top FB in the draft.The only reason he didnt get drafted was because the FB position is becoming out of style and because he is the Navy and has service obligations which may keep him out for periods of time.I dont how they are going to work that out.

So he's Navy. That means he has a lot of maturity and discipline. Nice.
