Kyle Orton in the Eyes of Bronco Fans

Or we can just stick with Henne, Moore, and Devlin... hoping Cincy changes mind on Palmer and trade for him... and if that never happens... and Henne blows... we get Cowher next season.

Correct. He's an average QB who thinks he's worth more than he actually is. I'd rather go into the season with Henne. He has a higher ceiling if he succeeds while Orton has basically hit his ceiling: average.

Man....I hate to say it but you are correct :-)

we will see how well Teabow does once there is film on him.......in 2 yrs ask this question again......

We added an OC that was among the worst over the pasdt two years sorry Im not jumping for joy.
This OC is a major concern of mine as his track record points of us moving backwards and we certainly do not have far to go there from last year.
Take into consideration our offensive line is "still" in a state of flux with the best OL on PUP
Our major pickup this year so far is an oft injured running back who "wants" to be the "featured back".
Henne "from reports" is not throwing well in training camp regardless of the jump start he has had in practicing all summer.
Couple that with the way the last game of the year went down last year when the entire offense folded and went home.
It certainly does not leave much hope just blind faith because you are a phins fan and that just does not cut it.

I think this Orton argument lost its way a LONG time ago... I think the real question should only be is Orton an upgrade to what we have now??? I have not seen a single post which tries to paint Orton as a world beater... So Broncos fans opinions are largely irrelevant... I think he is better... JMO... He certainly knows how to feed the beast that is MArshall and that for me is a HUGE criteria for an upgrade... Does he make those around him better??? That answer is pretty plain to see...

But The question should remain... In the opinion of the FO, is he BETTER than what we have??? If so... Get him... Period... It IS THE DEFACTO OBLIGATION OF EVERY FO TO IMPROVE, EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY...

Ireland left free agency as the only option available to upgrade the most important position... That was his DECISION... The fact that Orton is way overpriced is OUTSIDE of his control... Even the team with Tom Brady develops QB's behind him... Unfortunately we do not.. Other than a futile Pat White experiment... Such is the ego of our FO...

Personally I don't much care either way... But One thing is for sure... Ireland has Nolan to help him set a ceiling for Orton... Nolan knows him. And I am dead on certain Nolan is the ONLY guy on this staff who does know what a football player looks like. So I am comfortable with that...

IRELAND SET YOUR PRICE AND THEN WALK THE HELL AWAY... Every day that TC is dominated by questions of Orton erodes the team's confidence in Henne a little more... It is time to back your guy Jeff... Either pull the trigger or Back up Henne. Your move.

"Better" is Relative. Most of em over there think Orton sucks but is still better than both Henne and Sanchez. However, Orton's established his ceiling, while the latter 2 haven't, so at this point they could be receptive to an even up trade and wouldn't necessarily be wrong.

It's kinda like trading your 7 year old Kia for a slightly superior 8 year old Hyundai. When the (valve) smoke clears, neither are even the lower end Lexus, let alone a Corolla :idk: Now if you get a favorable deal on the Hyundai and don't have to feed it premium to get it to run, well maybe as a stop gap while you drool over the luxury models - but that's about it.

Well Vaark me boy you are correct but an upgrade is an upgrade... And as I mentioned Orton showed TRUE chemistry with Marshall, Henne did not... If Orton brings the possibility of making other guys play at a higher level than I am all for it...

But let's all admit... franchise QB's are INCREDIBLY difficult to find... We all know it... But I can say with ABSOLUTE certainty you will NEVER find one... If you are not even bothering to look.

What? Aaron Rodgers back in 05 (who I was yelling for on a BB) is chopped liver?? Or Brady Quinn who in a newsgroup and possibly here I was a lonely voice pleading against, turned out to be filet mignon?

I would personally take BUsting time and again, expending pick after pick searching for a franchise guy over doing NOTHING any day of the week!!!!

A franchise QB is hard to find but it's not as hard to find a QB that can consistently get the job done or at least manage a game and not totally lose it for their team.

2000-Tom Brady

2001-Mike Vick
Drew Brees

2002-David Carr
Joey Harrington 02 was not good at all

2003-Carson Palmer
Rex Grossman not great but has gotten it done

2004-Eli Manning
Philip Rivers
Ben Roethlisberger
Matt Schaub

2005-Aaron Rodgers
Kyle Orton
Derek Anderson
Matt Cassel

2006-Vince Young
Jay Cutler
Tarvaris Jackson

2007-Kevin Kolb
Tyler Thigpen

2008-Matt Ryan
Joe Flacco
Chad Henne "our latest failure?"
Dennis Dixon -some are talking about this guy

2009-Matt Stafford
Mark Sanchez
Josh Freeman

2010-Sam Bradford
Jimmy Clausen
Tim Tebow

2011-Cam Newton
Jake Locker
Blaine Gabbert
Christian Ponder
Andy Dalton
Colin Kaepernick
Ryan Mallet

Of course I realize that not all of this guys are franchise guys but, not counting the class of 2011, most of them are better than anything the Dolphins have put behind center since Marino.

I totally agree. Go get us a QB. If they draft a few busts, then so be it.

Tim Tebow - not enough time as a starter to know, looks likely

I've bolded the ones who I think are better. Now... how many of them are available?

I never said they are available. I was only trying to show that it good QBs are not as hard to come by as some would like to let on. Out of the ones you highlighted, we could have had most of them and could have possibly made a move in the draft for a few more of them.

I just don't understand why this team no matter who is in charge has not one time went out and got us a decent QB to lead the team.
