Kyle Orton in the Eyes of Bronco Fans

One more year with Henne seems much better than possibly overpaying for yet another failure. I do not want Orton here because if they get him, they will stick with him for two or three years before they decide he is the answer and in the meantime, they will pass on three or four more QBs that will turn out very good or great elsewhere.

If we fail with Henne, we at least know he's not the answer and we can draft a franchise QB next year. Considering if Henne fails, Sparano is fired.

The Kyle Ortons are always greener on the other sideline.

Thanks for posting the feedback from Denver fans... It got me thinking twice about Orton and being thankful that I'm not in Ireland's shoes. The QB position could easily be what defines this regimes future. Orton is definitely an upgrade to Henne right now/week 1. We can compete, he has proven to dish it out to multiple receivers and has played w/ Marshall. However I believe that we all agree that he is a temporary fix. We can expect the entire team as a whole to improve slightly (I'm not basing that on wins/losses but on personnel acquisition during the off-season/draft and chemistry that comes w/ time).

But w/ Orton can we defeat New England? The Not Yets? Can we make the playoffs? If not, then he is not worth franchise QB salary. If Ireland pulls the trigger on Orton and agrees to pay him franchise QB money then we better make the playoffs... We'll be stuck w/ him for a couple of years and we can forget about Henne future... His career is shot (if it isn't already)... The point is we don't know...

Besides a 3rd round pick and franchise QB money for a temporary fix in Kyle Orton doesn't sound too good... I would agree to a 5th round pick and the salary he deserves.

Unless you guys believe he can get us over the top...

Orton is not the answer. I'm officially on the give Henne one last chance bandwagon.

Based on what Broncos' fans have said, he just doesn't seem worth it. Without him, we can have the cap space to sign another weapon (please Zach Miller) and let Henne do his thing. The Dolphins organization as we currently know it will be subject to whatever Henne produces on the field (if Henne fails, Sparano goes, if Sparano goes, Nolan goes, and there goes our defense)

He's worked hard over the off season. Give him this one last shot with these new weapons and OC and we will have the answer to the question we have been asking for 3 years: Is Henne our guy?

One thought: if SPARANO goes, NOLAN's the HC, and if DABOLL does well despite A BUST FRON HENNE, then DABOLL also stays, as does IRELAND, and the consolation prize for MIAMI might just be LUCK. (It'll certainly be a top QB prospect)

no coach in thier right mind would just keep all the coordinators. Nolan a big possibble either way but why keep daboll in a losing effort

name one qb that was coming off a good season that we aquired. Not one so why do people keep acting like orton would be business as usual.

With the encouraging reports on Devlin, I am not as eager to sign Orton. Let the rookie have a shot if Henne and Moore fail. Lets see what the kid can bring to the party.
The team needs to acquire an excellent QB, we will go no where without one.. Like I said before, they need to draft a QB every year with a high pick until they find the right guy. Hopefully, they can get it right the first time. In addition to Luck, there a couple of other fine QB in next year's draft. If our QB situation is as bad as we all think it is, we should set our sights on that. Sparano will survive at least two more seasons.

Stop the zombie agenda, Orton is miles better than Henne.

Really gotta applaud Ireland if he does decide to stil with henne.. Despite knowing this is probably his last chance along with TS, to put your trust in henna over an average free agent shows that despite the fact they may only be here for the sure term, there still addressing the position with a long term plan.. If henne succeeds we've got our qb o the future.. If he doesn't we have a top 15 pick and can get a qb in a much stronger class, makes so much sense.

here are some more beyond the ones I posted in a thread a few days ago - my contention being that fins fans who hate "Check Down Chad" after seeing him up close are no more enlightened or smarter than their Broncos counterpoints after 2 years of "3 and Out Orton" Those who can't see that we'd be substituing chop meat for ground round IMO are blinded by their Henne hatred. (FWIW, as much as the Broncos fans dislike Orton, the consensus is that the jest should enter the bidding since he's still better than Sanchez). :hump::d-day:

Orton is like that lame guy at the party who wasn't even invited; yet he doesn't get the vibe that nobody wants him to stick around as he drinks all of our beer.
================================
it's okay. An informal poll by the Denver Post showed a whole 8% of fans don't want to see Orton go.
==================================
Here's a way to get back at him...
1. Make Tebow the starter.
2. Promote Quinn to 2nd.
3. Make Orton the 3rd string emergency QB in his last year of contract.

Let's see what he gets as a FA with one year on the pine.
====================================
Theoretically Tebow should be the one throwing picks left and right, after all Orton is supposedly leaps and bounds above Tim in terms of passing. Is he not?
=====================================
If Orton stays, expect a lot of booing and "TE-BOW" chants when he's getting pwned at home this year.
======================================
To be fair that same harshness can be found with Orton supporters as well. I support the Broncos as a team because that's what they are, but I admit that Tebow is far more inspiring and energetic than Orton. Orton projects himself as a very timid and meek individual, but that's just my opinion.
=======================================
Orton is and will forever be better than Moore and Devlin. I think he's better than Henne, I guess that could be debated.
======================================
Orton trying to get paid before he fades away into continued mediocrity.
======================================
Just the fact that KO was on the trading block and all of ONE team showed any real interest in talking about obtaining him tells me all I need to know about how teams around the league view KO as a QB.
======================================
Orton was put on the trading block on Day 1.... that pretty much means we don't want him.

No other team seems to want him at the price Denver's asking, along with either the money and/or length of contract Orton wants either.

Again this would obviously include Denver, why else would they be trying to trade him and his contract?

Unfortunately Orton shouldn't be a 9 mil a year Starting QB. Orton was brought in as a stop gap QB as part of the Cutler trade, and we can thank McD for extending and over inflating his contract before the start of last season.
======================================
Denver isn't going anywhere this year, and Orton just isn't that good. The Patriot system that McDiaper brought in made him look better than what he is, just like it has been doing for Brady and Cassel.

In addition, I would rather go 0-16 with Tebow, and know that we need Andrew Luck, then go 7-9 with Orton and be stuck on a treadmill of mediocrity.
========================================
Yeah, Fitzpatrick is very mobile and an excellent team leader, the Bills adore him.

I see no comparisons to Orton. Orton is Trent Dilfer. Except with less leadership, less mobility, and less clutch.
And less arm strength.
====================================
When the game is on the line... I want Tebow. I've seen what Quinn and Orton do in those situations. Crumble...
======================================
He's not the best game day QB. We've seen that already.

Just watch and cry like we did last year. It will happen. I will put money on Denver finishing below 500 with Orton.

Going to be a rough year. At least with Tebow it would be fun to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Tebow last year. It was exciting to see him come to life during the games. Much more exciting than watching Orton take 3 (34 total last year, 30 estimated phantom) sacks a game.

Thank you for helping me prove my point. If Orton is so good, then why do they want rid of him so bad? Some of you guys say he is "miles" better than Henne. I say ask the Bronco fans, who have suffered through the last few years watching him. I bet they don't think he is that much better. It's possible he may have a slight edge over Henne, but if he were to come here, most everyone here will be ready to get rid of him just as the Bronco fans are right now. He is not the answer so I would rather take our chances with Henne one more year and next year, hopefully the FO will have enough sense and balls to go after a potential franchise guy in the draft.

This is the way i see it. Orton in my eyes is better then Henne. May not be leaps and bounds over him but is definitely better. If we keep Henne around and he blows we r pretty much in trouble next year cuz his contract is up and we would need to either draft and start a rookie or pick up a replacement stop gap type guy anyways. With Orton here he buys us atleast 2-3 years to draft a QB and let him sit and learn and hopefully develop into something good. Orton also lets us spend a year filling other spots on the team through the draft and FA instead of wasting a first round pick on a QB we could spend it on a WR or a stud RB or a big time FS to improve our team instead of having to draft a QB. We could sign him to a back heavy contract and cut him after 2 or 3 years and save the money. The only other thing that could really happen which is very unlikely is Henne finally turns the corner in a big way and we keep him around for another 4-5 years. I dont really see the latter happening especially if we dont pick up more fire power on offense. Z. miller and a good starting OG or a real #2 WR would/should help Henne enough but that doesnt look like its happeneing.

Thats why i think we should bring Orton in and let him be a healthy pennington 2.0
