L Gordon picked up by Philly

It's kind of ironic that they could have sent a draft pick for him but didn't, considering last years trade.

cmon, in the trading world of football playin' flesh, stupidity is to be exploited not pitied. Besides, Philly is shrewd, maybe even to the point of it being counterproductive.

Gordon was better than that schmuck we just picked up from the Chargers.
Apparently, Saban would rather have Chatman than Gordon. That's good enough for me.

They think they got a good pickup, but they just got the biggest weapon for the other team that they possibly could have, well unless they did trade for and start Feeley.

Sometimes a coach will release a player in order to help him catch on with another team. Keeping Gordon around for a few weeks screws him, because a team might be less likely to pick him up in Oct than they would be this week.

Saban is probably doing Gordon a favor by letting him go now.

Im sure Gordon wanted to be waived because he knew that he would be released if kept when Ricky comes back. Saban was being fair.

What is the story with Gordon? Why is he in the doghouse? I was surprised Philly was able to claim him off of waivers, why was he worth a 3rd rounder last year (in an admittedly desparate situation) and nothing this year? Is he soft and/or not sharp?

Thanks.

If Gordon is productive... dont we get a comp pick anyway??? If so I sure hope he is really freakin productive because if he does well... we could get up to a 3rd round pick for him!!

He cant stay healthy and is very hesitant when choosing where to run...

We don't even know if Philly offered us a trade. It was nothing but speculation.

compensatory picks have no bearing on cutdown days...only what happens during the FA period.

next year, we wont get any picks because we signed more guys than we lost
