La Canfora: Fins might bring back Zimmer for 2nd interview and might interview McCoy

Before Zimmer joined the Bengals in 2008, Cincinnati's defense ranked 19th or worse (four times 27th or worse) every season that Marvin Lewis was the head coach. Zimmer joined the team and Cincinnati's defense never finished worse than 15th with two seasons ranked seventh or better...and the his D has finished in the top 10, 2 of the last 4 years.

Look at the Cincy depth chart? Not much there. None of them would start for us, yet look at his results.

Look at his division...

I like Bowles for DC too....... I mean zimmer at head coach would give us alot of options on what way to go with the rest of the staff.

I liked Fisher in part because he would give the 1. franchise direction 2. instill mental toughness and 3. bring in a great staff...

Mike Zimmer WILL be able to do the same thing. Just watch...

I am fine looking at Mike McCoy, Chud or whoever. However, a good coach is just waiting for a chance and will work within the frameworks of the owner. GIVE MIKE ZIMMER A CHANCE!!! Man, he has worked his *** for this shot...give it to him.

Dolfans flip flop more than John Kerry. Most didn't want Fisher because he was defensive minded, but same group is giddy with Zimmer. Mind you, I'm not attacking anyone. I just find it humorous. Right now I kind of wonder why any sane coach would even want to come here.
Question about Zimmer.....did he seek out the Dolphins or did Ross reach out to him. Just curious.

I could see Zimmer as becoming a quality coach in Miami. He has wanted patiently to become a head coach...

His staff COULD include some strong names. Zimmer is very respected around the league and many would want to coach with him

OC:
Hue Jackson- connection to Atlanta
Todd Haley- connection to Dallas
Mike Sherman- veteran coach that may want to hook up with a Mike Zimmer
Ken Zampese- coached together in Cincy
Brian Daboll- in the name of continuity

DC:
Todd Bowles- coached together in Dallas. Perfect fit.
Kevin Coyle- Cincy DB coach
Jack Del Rio- Fmr. HC 4-3 guy

I would love a Hue Jackson and Todd Bowles staff. Zimmer will put together an impressive staff and start to give the Fins strong direction going forward.

think you can cross Sherman and probably Daboll off the list. Maybe Haley. Think the 2 most likely are Hue Jackson and Ken Zampese and I'd be ecstatic with either. I know CK has speculated Bowles would stay on but I get the feeling Zimmer would want somebody else
