MIA met with the agent for CB Nolan Carroll to express their interest in keeping him. He will hit the market, and see who makes best offers

I was about to post as well, but I loath LAC so I could not hit return…lol.

Interesting.

Carroll got starting play time because Patterson was hurt and played decent. Not sure if this means teams will view him and offer starter money or will keep him in that #3-4 CB price range. Then again does HE now view himself as a starter or recognizes he is still just a #3-4 CB?

And by starter I don't mean Brent Grimes money.

I will be honest. Carroll pissed me off for awhile, but became solid. He will not break the bank and has a good home in Miami.

We would be dumb as hell to let him leave

I hope he doesnt resign. Taylor and Davis need expanded roles and unless they decide Carroll is the #1 guy because Grimes and others cost too much i rather have Taylor and Davis as the #2 and #3 corners.

Are we going to re-sign any of our own free agents?

Do you think Hickey and Philbin look at our FA's as Ireland guys and want their own stamp on the team. To be fair, Joe can argue that it is not like the Fins have a ton of wins with these guys and maybe changes are needed.

Not a big fan of letting everybody walk.

Everybody say "clean house" when they want a new GM. That means more than just the coaching staff. A new GM want to build the team the way he wants. You will see alot more turnover with a new GM than in the past when Ireland was resigning his own guys that he drafted. Sure Hickey may like some but the guys he doesn't he wont be willing to pay for when he can draft guys that he likes. As well as Hickey and Philban already have a better relationship that Ireland and Philban, so Philban may have more insight on guys that may not fit his vision too

I can see that happening which would be unfortunate

So this means that the Dolphins will Nolan Caroll will be the highest paid CB in the NFL, going by LaCanfora's track record.
