I DO NOT want a first time DC running our D. I want an experienced hand at the wheel of the 3-4. A Kevin Greene or even a Winston Moss is sharp downgrade from Mike Nolan. I do not blame Todd for wanting out.

Point that Bowles stays w/MIA. OAK HC an option, as well as OAK DC. PHI needs a DB coach, Bowles is a native of that area #insideslant

Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland reached out to Todd Bowles about staying in Miami as DC; he wants to explore other options. Not likely at this...

To move up to a HC spot obviously he goes. But an opportunity to be the DC where he is already established may keep him in Miami. I think LaConfora is way off in saying he could go to Philly as a DB coach. I like Bowles and so does Ross. I doubt he'll get paid more anywhere unless it is a promotion.

Also, keep in mind Bowles is under contract for another year.

If I am Bowles and I go 2-1 down the stretch, interview for the job and not get it...I would move to another team regardless of position.

Kevin Greene is a huge step down from Mike Nolan. Lots of on the job training. Philbin needs experience on his staff.

If La Canfora thinks Bowles is ready to leave he's probably already signed on as our new DC

Does LaCanfora understand that Todd Bowles is UNDER CONTRACT!! Short of getting a head coaching job he can't leave. If Miami wants to keep him as secondary coach they can!

Sure Miami could let him out of his deal, but its unlikely! They didn't let Nolan go last year and forced him to stay and he was miserable all season

Got a link that states Bowles contract situation?

We've all seen how reliable the news from the NFL Insiders have been.

He is under contract which is the reason the Dolphins delayed the Rams permission to talk with him. He can leave if he gets a HC job but unless Philbin does not want him on his staff he will stay.

The larger question is; does he want to stay as DC? if he does not want to be here then we are going to get the same kind of effort we got from Dom Capers in 2007.

i honestly think he would stay here as DC, its a promotion and a pretty nice one. plus its his same personnell that he is familiar with and they are a top 10 defense >no reason to go to philly as a DB coach if he can be a DC, but lets see if we offer him that.

LaConfara is officially a see if it sticks reporter. ill wait on schefter.

If he doesn't get the Raiders gig, I think it makes sense for Bowles to stay on and be the defensive coordinator. He has a good defense here so it's totally possible he can put up a top ten D next season and he'd surely have even more options after next season, as a result.

I'd keep him if he wants to be the DC but I'd let him leave if he wants to go cause we don't need a DC that is not happy being here.

Ozzy rules!!
