Even though Bowles is under contract his job is a DB coach so he can leave for a DC job because it would be a promotion.

No he can't! You can only leave for a head coaching job. Any other job is at the discretion of the team. Most teams don't block those moves but Miami could if they wanted too. And have a history of doing it in the past with this group
Bowles was assistant head coach here. defensive coordinator alone wouldn't be a promotion.
A DC job here would be a big raise and a star on his resume, not a bad move.

Does Bowles have his panties in a bunch because they passed him over for the HC job? He should be happy that he was even considered. He was coaching the secondary a few months back without a sniff of a HC job. Now a D Cor position is somehow not enough? As a matter of fact, I'd rather he not be the D Cor and they get a more experienced hand.
