Hey saw this in the paper this morning, not LA paper but the article is by sam farmer of the Times.

There prediction for the AFC East was:

1. Jets, 2. Pats, 3. Dolphins, 4. Bills

And since Im reading it now, here is what they wrote on the dolphins:

It was our arrivals, our departures, which boston was listed as one of our departures so I cant figure out why people cant seem to get that information straight.

Then there was there view: The return of AWOL running back Ricky Williams dominated the headlines this summer, but the factor that could mean more to the Dolphins is how well the big guys up front protect the quarterback. They did a lousy job of that last season. Can Nick Saban continue his winning ways in the pros, or are we looking at the next Steve Spurrier.
-----------------------------

Nothing big in reports but was funny how the guy thought we would finish ahead of the bills, and thinks that this season will send the patriots back down to earth.

Its been so long since I've read the LA Times Sports section, let alone their coverage of the NFL, I'd forgotten how optimistic the writers here are, especially when compared to the local Miami columnists, sensibility notwithstanding.

For example, heres the Sun Sentinel's own Dave Joseph's grim, if not humorous expectations, of a 5-11 upcoming season.
The Dolphins' offense looks weak. No secret there. The fun will be watching Nick Saban. The guy is snapping like a cheap card table and it's not even the regular season yet. Imagine watching him unwind come November and December. He might wind up bald, overweight and chain smoking Lucky Strikes. Tick...tick...tick...boom!

They don't put a lot of emphasis on football considering that we have no NFL team in LA. We have USC, UCLA to count on for football and that's covered a lot more indepth than the NFL. The closest to a Miami dolphins related article was an interview of Don Shula they had at LAX.
