laCanfora: Philip Wheeler visiting Dolphins

Bess loses his dreads and we bring in this guy. Ireland has a boner for dreads. Probably even has his Cliffard the big red dog pubes all done up.

You don't think we have good starters on defense?

Overall yes but who knows what we have at DE if we are playing 4-3, not to mention uncertainty at olb and no real depth at corner. I dont see Marshall playing corner and he is not really a good corner. we have quite a few good starters on defense I was referring more to offense on the line which has two big holes and actually a third hole, wr depth sucks and we need another starter. Qb still a big question. Much less concerned with talent on d than how it will fit. Seems like we have alot of DT types in 4-3 and not many de types. Im confident Wake will be a good 4-3 end .

this week has warped his mind to think we have nothin on the team.smh

Never said we didnt but we have not improved ourselves at all in free agency except maybe safety. The line is not helped, much weaker at receiver, big questions at qb and definately questions on who will be other 4-3 end as well as who will be our backers. Dansby is the only linebacker im confident will be just fine, no corner depth even with marshall

It amaze me how we look away from players as if we have a superbowl team already.

the draft? You don't get all your starters in free agency.misi is a good linebacker, just not pass rusher and burnett is above average.the wholesale you mention we can fill those with our first 4 picks in the 1st 3 rounds.we aren't devoid of talent,a solid draft (hopefully) and we should look waaaay better.just need for them to perform

So we are going to draft like 4 starters this year but we drafted one starter last year okay

I thought Wheeler would have done well on the inside of a 3-4 when coming out. I think he could be a good pick up on the cheap. He has always had great instincts and him playing outside LB in a 4-3 is a waste of his talents as he was never known to be very good in coverage. Never timed fast but always looked amazingly quick on the field. I summed it up to be really good read and react time.

and those are pretty much our only glaring holes? What team in the NFL is the perfect team? You can't name one. We have about the same amount of needs as anybody at this time of year.take the pats.if you aren't a diligent football fan,you don't know who is playing defense...but coaching is what matters.those guys wouldn't be starters on other teams (David givens) for example but they play to they're strengths and make them great.that's why free agency is so risky, what may work for one team doesn't work for another.in the end,it comes down to coaching.if he is better than tony we should be better than last year, point blank.so I won't jump off a bridge because we traded Marshall, because I believe this coach will be here a long time.which means he will get this team to win games.

We have three holes alone on offensive line. Need at least 2 wrs. need a damn qb. need another good corner. Need a pass rusher. we have plenty of needs. Three straight losing seasons and getting rid of our best offensive player and yet people act like we are so close to a playoffs.

We really only need 1 WR tops, if we are bringing in the WCO then all we need is sharp route runners and good hands, Davone Bess and Hartline will thrive in the WCO in my opinion, I'd also like to see what Wallace and Moore can do in the WCO.

Wallace and Moore have done nothing but of course they will all of a sudden break through in the WCO. Neither of these guys are worth a damn. We have Hartline and Bess and basically nothing else, so why dont we need two wr's. Gates may develop but we still need another guy. hartline is an ok player but he wont become a stud in the wco

Don't see why not, Wes Welker didn't show elite receiving skills here, but the minute he goes to New England he's a top WR in the league. Systems can change certain players, and in the WCO it will change our receivers IMO.
