LaCanfora reveals finalists for Dolphins GM job

You have 26,000 posts.

Ohall was kind. He didn't mean the number of posts probably the quality of posts. Let me spell it out: you type a lot of ****.

You start out predicting anybody and as the GM search narrows you narrow your 'prediction' always including those who are still in it. Oh gee wiz.....

What a Nostradamus.

if this list is indeed true, than HICKEY is far and away my fav.

he had become my second to xander anyhow.

here is why this all appears to be a failure off the bat, becuase the biggest thing we need is a TALENT EVALUATOR and a guy who KNOWS HOW TO DRAFT and HOW IT WORKS!!

and the guys i see, all but hicky are political or brown nose.

FARMER i am sure [and i hate this] is all about smoothing over the racial over tones of the impending martin fallout. plus, he [as reported] has only handled the pro personel side. BAD!! we need a college talent evaluator!!!

GAINE: brown nose to aponte. his resume glitz is being the talent procurer for maybe the worst gm in nfl history. gaine is all about being safe for ross and appeasing aponte and garfunkle [philbin was a puppet for aponte and was used and spit out, aponte wont even acknowledge him at the water cooler now that her coup is complete], and nothing else. he is a part of the 3 headed power monster. all political and brown nose.

and as for the ones who have circled the most seem to be peterson foil, there guys he like or doesnt like as top priority, not "is he a good evaluator/draft guy" as should be the ONLY criteria at this point. and if they just happen to be friendly with peterson, fine. but i am just not hearing [outside of two guys] anything other than "how well they know or are liked" by peterson.

but, as a NOTE: when we were looking for sparanos replacement, we had names floating everywhere. philbin was mentioned EARLY on but quickly became an after thought. and then BANG!! out of the blue, the name no one saw coming, not even the media, JOE PHILBIN [who i still like a lot and VERY FEW coaches could have reached 8-8 under the circumstances he had last year].

so, this may just happen. it could end up being xander. or someone else not talked about much. and think about it, even though their are not any other GM spots open, a guys gotta eat and their are staffs still being filled out in a few cities and i havnt seen xander going after anything. he is WELL THOUGHT OFF, A HIGH CHARACTER GUY with REAL talent evaluation record and could have any of a dozen positions out there. if he is OUT, like is reported here, seems he would have a gig locked down. i doubt he sat and waited on the finz job without creating some options for himself.

and i thought LACANFORA was a doof and a hack [he is] that couldnt be trusted? is anyone taking his report SERIOUSLY?

from PFT: Dolphins reducing field for G.M. job, Xanders out - pretty much same as JLC was saying last night

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/23/dolphins-reducing-field-for-g-m-job-xanders-out/

The Dolphins are in fact paring down their list, and letting guys know if they’re not on it.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the Dolphins told Lions personnel man Brian Xanders he was not a finalist for their General Manager job.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Browns assistant G.M. Ray Farmer, in-house assistant G.M. Brian Gaine and Buccaneers director of player personnel Dennis Hickey made the short list.

That would mean Steelers director of football administration Omar Khan and Titans vice president of football operations Lake Dawson were apparently also told “no thanks.”

Farmer is considered by many to be the front-runner for the job.

JLC is basically just reiterating what Adam Beasley and Mando have been reporting. It's what he does. Rehash other peoples stories.

Interesting Philosophy NRA. As we go through this process my mind keeps returning to the press release they had before they started interviews. The emphasis on talent evaluation is what I keep thinking about. They also spoke about experience. To me that points to Xanders. Now there are reports that Xanders is more of a capologist like Aponte and Khan. So I'm bot entirely sure what to believe with that.

I'm not overly impressed with the list. These are the names we're given, doesn't mean we have to be happy considering the guys out there who aren't happy with the structure.

I'm not sure we're hiring the "best guy for the job". It's great they're taking their time in this search, but there is going to be more than egg on someone's face if this hire isn't right.

I vote Farmer. Let's get this over with already. Farmer/Philbin/Lazor/Coyle and a soon to be Pro Bowl QB in #17.

Only 220 days till kickoff!

This is interesting, Farmer doesn't even know if he wants to accept 2nd interview. Decision on 2nd interview expected to come within the hour

According to Fritz Pollard Alliande, he's mulling over whether to do 2nd interview

CBS reports Ray Farmer has been offered a 2nd interview by the Dolphins for GM job and is deciding whether to do it.
