Anyone else confused about the lack of adjustments on defense? I know we are injury depleted but I was shocked how we had no answer. Our offense woke up but lost moment each time as the Lions counter-punched with ease...

Not saying I had any answers either but you know Stafford is erratic, you are being run at will; wouldn't you go 8 in the box and run a few stunts and go man? I know we were exposed as a weak team covering TE's again but it just seemed like we had no answers from coaching down.

Still a young season but that was disappointing and with the injuries hitting this team; I'm getting that queasy 7-9 crappy draft position feeling in my stomach again...

With our personnel, what would you have done differently on D in the 2nd half???

Wish I could say I am shocked.

I'm not.

What to do differently? You pretty much called it. Stack the box, press man coverage with Minkah playing deep centerfield. Mix in some blitzes, particularly with Kiko as red dog, cause he cant cover.

Considering how "dumbed" down football is at the moment I am not certain on how relevant this point will be, but there was a time when a Dolphin fan looked forward to halftime. No matter how badly they were getting whipped, the team would come out with adjustments.

That time ended when Don Shula was pushed out of this team.

I dont know man after watching 2 girls 1 cup as a a teenager it takes a lot to shock me nowadays.
well said...I was in my mid 20's when I first saw that and it did blow a shock fuse in my system...I need a moment...

Sadly accurate...I miss his fire on the sidelines...

I was with you; you watched Kiko get burned often, play to his strengths instead of continuing to expose his weakness...very frustrating

Patricia may be a defensive guy but he had Jim Bob Cooter's offense attack us similarly to how NE does it. Run right on the edges and make the ends contain and force the LB's to read and make tackles.

I am frankly amazed that every team we face doesn't do it. You run at Godchaux and the other tackles and we hold up. But if you attack the edges, boom, you're ripping off seven or eight yard chunks at a time. This goes back three years at least with NE.

Someone more versed in the wide 9 can probably give a scientific explanation of why in terms of schematic vulnerability.

Once Hayes went down, and other than Woodard and Branch to a degree, our ends are not complete football players. They are susceptible to being run on. One of our biggest needs is an ass kicking complete defensive ends.

Kiko is having a solid season, and I like Baker's speed, but the LB's were really exploited. McMillan needs to live in the film room. He has physical ability so there is hope. But the ends and LB's were miserable overall yesterday.
