LaConfora: Text Details

ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC and CNN would all like to call B.S. sir.

I appreciate your reponse, but this is exactly my point. Bullying, school shootings and such have become glorified. I'm not saying the press shouldn't report it and bring light to it, but there is such a thing as negative press on a legitimate topic. School shootings used to never happen. Now, anytime someone doesn't like how they are treated, a gun gets brought into the situation.

But there is a very fine line here. Most people never know the real truth about situations. And the press tends to want to "shock" the world and not do true investigative reporting. In time, you find our that many people claim "bullying" as another way of crying wolf. They use the phrase like yelling fire in a crowded room to get attention. In many cases, THEY were the bullies. Prime example, Richie fired off in the social media when Martin left the team. This board lit up with people taking Incog's side and piling on Martin.

They were misinformed. And believed the first version of the story. True bullies know how to manipulate stories and those around them. Heck, Richie was even given an INTERVIEW by one of those glorified acronyms you just listed. Talking about his rebirth and how he's changed as a human. It was a real tear jerking moment.

He manipulated that situation to give himself much needed PR and it's results were proven when this story broke. Most people jumped on his side. The skillful bully won, at first.

The media can be a good thing, but it can also be a bad thing. It can incite a mob as much as it can soothe one. It wasn't until some reporters actually INVESTIGATED the story to find out the truth that we see what really happened.

News agencies have a duty to report the truth and get down to the facts. But FEW really do. Believing everything reported is gospel is equivalent to saying everything posted on the internet is truth. To say all of those agencies always report the truth only makes the spreading of bad information by them easier to do.

One day, we'll learn it's not the victims who need to overcome bullying. it's the people who are witnessing it that need to overcome it. They are the ones who can make a real difference. Instead of waiting for someone else to do something or some news agency to tell them it's okay to act, one day people will realize that being a human and treating others fairly doesn't need an audience. It just needs people with a moral backbone to live by it and help their neighbor.

We can all sit here and play psycholigist with all the maybe's Martin did this and Martin did that along with the shoulda woulda coulda's, but we should all know that when dealing with a hostile working environment (I am privy to what constitues a hostile working environment and the laws associated with it) Martin has the legal right to remove himself from the situation (with pay) and the Dolphins organzation as well as Incognito are 100% liable so long as Martin reported the situation to someone (bestly the Human Resource Department). Also, the Incgonito family as a whole seems not too bright as Richie Sr. has now exposed himself to legal liability for his comments on the situation. If the Dolphins were made privy to the harrassment and did nothing, they can and will face liability. If they were made aware of the situation and did something, however there is still harrassment, they are still liable.

Also for those of you who are suggesting Miami cuts martin, the Dolphins are not legally allowed to cut Martin during this investigation (although Martin may voluntarily terminiate himself) as if they did it would constitute retailiation against Martin and Martin would have even more legal recourse. This is some of what constitutes a hostile working environment although there is much more.

Well said.

Sounds like the texts were in April. Unreal. Seven months ago. LOL.

I thought about this as well. It certianly is not beyond the realm of possibility that when lining up next to each other, Richie would talk **** to Martin standing next to him. "Hey Rookie, once this game is done I'm going to... blah blah blah"... Who knows. I can see it happening now.

If I had to guess, Richie didn't run his mouth to anyone standing to his left when McKinnie took over at LT. I would say that put an end to any problems between LG and LT.

There is a reason Incognito fights with every DL he faces, he is a bad guy, I am sure what he did and said to Martin justified Martin to be afraid of him..... Martin is a big guy but not a tough one, and you have to have some crazy in you to fight someone like Incognito

Did you read what I wrote? Obviously Martin isn't to blame for getting bullied. But there's still a way to deal with your problems without losing your integrity as he did.

To some people they can not understand this POV.

Or he could have just left them in his phone. There is so much storage on modern smartphones that I have texts and voice mails from last year. I am not saving them for a purpose, they just have no need to be deleted.

I guess. I am the type who doesn't store things like this, for multiple reasons.

But in this situation, where some one is claiming victim hood through the media. It raises questions, or red flags to those who can look past the name calling by Incog. It doesn't dismiss what was said, but it explains things. The time line here, raises more questions than it answers.

How does a Professional NFL player, become a victim of bullying? A sport dominated by alpha males.

Again, what NFL locker room will trust some one who didn't go to his Union rep., saved VMs and texts and gave those things to the media? I know that **** wouldn't fly in the real world. Much less a NFL locker room.

I'm also curious if these texts were recent like after Martin left the team. I would be pretty pissed if I felt I didn't do anything wrong and now my name was being dragged through the mud and Martin was letting it happen. I have a bad feeling this is going to be bigger than Richie. If its true that Martin is in Rehab in Cali then we have a huge problem there as well. I'm not defending Richie in anyway just trying to understand all of this. There is always two sides and then the truth, throw in the media or personal agendas and your given a third scenario.

You're starting to sound like one of those people who blame girls for being rape victims.

Why should anyone have to get into a fistfight at work? And when someone is making threats against your family, you don't want to set them off and give them a reason to do something stupid to someone you love.

Come on, you can say "Why now?" no matter when he reacted.

That same rep is Incognito's rep too, yes? And that rep is going to try to protect both players, yes?
I'm in a union. I was a union rep for some years.

The Union rep is there to ensure a safe work place. We are now being led to believe, Martin didn't feel safe, 7 months after the VMs and text messages were sent.
