Lamar Miller headed for MRI on his 'stinger'

7408-1.jpg

Lamar Miller will have an MRI on the left shoulder injury that knocked him out of Sunday's Week 9 win over the Chargers.

Miller picked up 57 total yards and a touchdown before leaving late in the third quarter. "It was just a stinger but I'm good," he said afterward. "I'll be fine once I get treatment." Miller's optimism is encouraging, but the Dolphins seem to have concern seen by the MRI. The Miami Herald noted that he struggled to pull a T-shirt over his head in the locker room. Miller's backups are Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas.

Shoulder again? Hasn't he had a shoulder issue since the U?

If so, not cool....he runs like he's not scared anymore, we need him.

He said he got a stinger and will be fine

Needs to be watched. I do think that DT and Williams can handle the load. Darkwa might get the call too.

Moreno seemed fine too and then BAM out for the season. Crap.

Forget Darkwa I want to see James take the third spot (assuming Lamar is out)!

Not sure if this is a little more of an update or part of the original story.

You may exhale now.

Miami Dolphins running back Lamar Miller is apparently fine. He spent a grand total of perhaps 45 seconds in the team trainer's room after Sunday's game. He left the locker room wearing no sling or any other protection for his left shoulder.

"It was just a stinger but I'm good," Miller said. "I'll be fine once I get treatment."

Miller clearly will need the treatment to keep his grip strength and might miss some parts of practice because he is clearly not 100 percent. He struggled to pull a T-shirt over his head after his shower.

But that is a far cry from the concerns some fans had when they saw or found out Miller was injured in the third quarter of today's game against San Diego. Miller, you see, is Miami's starter and only real big threat at running back.

Miller did not return after he left the game but that was perhaps as much about the team's thorough 37-0 whipping of San Diego as it was the injury.

"I could have come back," Miller said.

Nonetheless, the Dolphins sent Miller for an MRI. That will tell the real story of how serious this is.
