Lamar Miller

Miller didn't break anything, but he ran with more purpose Friday than he did last season. Compared to Sherman, I get the sense that Lazor is much clearer with his players on how he expects them to attack a given play. The offense looked more organized on its first preseason drive than it ever did under Sherman. I've watched just about every Eagles game from last season, and the synchronization is very impressive. I mean, you expect an NFL offense to look synchronized, but with Philly, the entire offense playing at the same rhythm - from the O-line to the WR's. Again, we're talking about one drive, and it wasn't humming quite as efficiently (speaking of player movement, not the net result - hard to beat 6/6 at 10 YPA with a TD) as 2013 Philly, and it helps that Atlanta plays mediocre D, but I saw some of cohesion.

Back to Miller, if he continues to run like that, and he can stay healthy, he'll break a few, and he'll get us some needed tough yards. The offense looks like a really good fit for him. I said when we first hired Lazor, but if Miller can make it in this scheme, he's not going to make it. I'm pretty encouraged by his initial outing. For this offense, assuming health, Miller should a more productive runner than Moreno. We'll see if he can handle the blocking and receiving responsibilities well enough to limit Moreno's snaps.
