I do not have a link, but on sports illustrated.com, under the truth and rumors section, it states that we will likely not re-sign Shulters.

Well if thats the truth its sad to hear. He was only with us for a year however he seemed like a big part of the Dolphins defense. That is kinda weird since there was all that talk that he wanted to stay in Miami and be a Dolphin

I am sure that will change when the CBA deal gets done. We don't have the money right now, but we will with the CBA deal.

Love the optimism Ace.... for all our sakes, gotta pray that CBA gets done!

LAME! Schulters probably wouldn't be expensive and we need all the help we can get in the secondary. He was our best DB last year and I think him and Bell could develop into a good safety corps for a few years if we can't address safety.

Players with at least 4 years of service that sign vet minimum contracts cannot re-sign until the end of the league year. Thus we can't do anything until either the CBA is done, or the league admits defeat and ushers in the un-capped year.

With that said schulters is good. I can see him signing a three year contract easily.

I want Lance to return. He deserves to come back. His play was great and was the only person on the Defense who played consistantly well. Except for the one play at the end of the season where he tripped over his own two feet and got burned. :nono:

I hope this turns out to be a nonissue. We still have two more days for the player reps to let Gene know what a huge mistake he is making and that they don't support his destructive stubborn plans. Maybe he can come to his senses and we can get this thing done. Then we will be able to sign the players we need.....or at least some of them.

Where is all this coming from. I thought at best he played ALRIGHT NOT GREAT! Yes he had his moments but he got toasted deep a couple times and looked really slow to me. If he stays good and if he leaves Y. Bell will step right in and not miss a beat.

Exactly. Lance Schulters made some alright plays, but he blew deep coverage several times too.

It's not a real big loss.

we better re sign him.he was a good part on the defense

Then it goes to 6 years of service to become a unrestricted free agent.

I think Lance did a decent job. I'm not thrilled about losing him but I'm not heartbroken either. I think it would be worth the effort to resign him as long he wasn't trying to get a huge deal. Otherwise let some other team over pay for him. With one season under his belt in Saban's system I think Y. Bell could step in and play well enough to help us forget Shulter's loss.
