“I had to beg him to take time off,” his agent Demarius Bilbo told the Miami Herald. “He wants to show people he’s an outside receiver, not just a slot receiver.”

As a second-round pick out of LSU, Landry led the team in receptions (84) and targets (111), totaling 758 receiving yards. His 28.1 kickoff-return average ranked fourth in the NFL.

The most impressive accolade of all this, though, is he was the NFL’s top ranked slot receiver in 2014 (as a rookie), according to Pro Football Focus. The scouting service also graded him as the league’s 16th best overall receiver, noting his strength as a run blocker. Wallace was 53rd and Hartline, 103rd.
As for any weaknesses, some might label Landry’s 9.0 yard average per catch as unimpressive but realize 23 of his grabs came behind the line of scrimmage. Anyone who watched the Dolphins with regularity last season, as painful as that was, had to have noticed Landry’s knack for getting open and making people miss after the catch. It’s a good sign he’s committed to developing into a more versatile receiver for Ryan Tannehill, one who could impact the game down the field.

Damn, looks like Landry has big plans for 2015. This kid is quickly becoming one of favorite Fins.

Love hearing he is already focused on the 2015 season. I am sure the play from his former college teammates is aiding his motivation, which is a good thing. I hope his desire spreads throughout the rest of our young core of players.

This kid is the man. I follow him, OBJ, and J. Hill on their respective social media and I am just glad we got one of the 3. These guys will all be very good to great NFL players from the looks of it.

I think Slimm may have mentioned this at one point, but Landry was the guy who had an infectious attitude at LSU, a leader with an extremely high work ethic that demanded the same out of his teammates.

Juice will be LOOSE and snaggin that ball and scoring TD's for years to come

This kid was the first 2nd round draft pick I've been excited about in years. I love this kid, everything about him, I see great things in his future if he keeps going the way he is.

I agree, he's going to be a huge fantasy sleeper in PPR for me LOL.

if you lose mike wallace and you dont replace him the defense goal will be to take away jarvis landry...so miami better think long and hard about the wallace thing...same for charles clay...if we lose wallace it all goes to landry and clay attention wise...regardless of field position

This team definitely needs more leaders like this. Hopefully Tannehill starts to step up as well. I wonder when they will start throwing drills. I'm guessing Tannehill and Landry will spend a ton of time this offseason. Hopefully Wallace is there with them as well. Unfortunately I think Wallace could learn a lot from this kid.

Here's one of the few times I remember Landry lining up on the outside. Good results.

he is a fiery kid too... he plays with passion and excitement. i hope he can help bring together whatever WR core we have for 2015 and keep everyone working together and on the same page with Tannehill and our offense. Great work ethic...

and the best part of this is that he is working to be a wide out as well... which I always believed he could also do. If we can bring in a possibly more slot WR in the draft like a Dorsett (who can also be wide), there are so many different options you can do in our offense, different things you can do. Versatility is great to have!!! Keep working Landry!!!

Totally agree. I think I'm one of the few who actually wants Wallace around next year. Some people just don't understand the dimension his speed/reputation adds to this offense. They keep Wallace, resign Clay, draft a legit #2 WR and sign Franklin in FA at G and I think this offense could be lethal. For what it's worth if all of these things mentioned happened as a FO I would cut Gibson and keep Hartline for one more year if I can't renegotiate his contract.
