God, we can only hope(expect) this comes to fruition. I can not take another year of watching the Bills game and seeing Thomas totally whiffing on Kyle Williams.:rolleyes2:

The Dolphins held off making Laremy Tunsil a starter from the outset of camp, but the rookie first-round draft pick appears closer than ever to becoming one.
On Tuesday, Tunsil received his most first-team work at left guard in any of the team’s 14 practices to date. Dallas Thomas, who started the preseason opener, received just a few first-team reps at left guard. And Tunsil performed well in his extended look.
“I like what he’s doing,” coach Adam Gase said of Tunsil. “I like the fact he’s giving everything he has and trying to make sure mentally he’s on the same page because there are two other guys counting on him.”
The Dolphins haven’t wanted to rush Tunsil because “this is a league where confidence does matter,” Gase said. “I’ve seen rookies before, you throw him in and be like, well, he’s got to play. And two years later, everyone is calling for his head. We’re going through the process we need to go through.”

Honestly who didn't see this coming? Thomas gets completely embarrassed out there. It's crazy cause couple years ago me and my son(13yrs old) saw Thomas getting destroyed in a preseason game and both said he is cut. So it goes to show you how bad the coaches have been last few years..

In my organized football experience, the starters of last year are ALWAYS the starters at the start of practice the following year. No, not quite true in the NFL when a team has the overall #1 pick, but, with those rare exceptions, is SOP. Gase saying players have to EARN a spot isn't unusual - it's the same everywhere. OK, now back to Thomas. Yes, Thomas has lifted weights and deserves a look by the new regime, but no one who has watched DT play for too long can mount even a weak defense on his behalf. What Philbin saw in him baffles me. Gase, by contrast, put Tunsil in with the twos, then gave him some snaps with the ones, and recently MOST snaps with the ones. It didn't go fast enough for me, but it appears fans have seen the last of Thomas as starter. Now, unless he's FAR better than his competition for the OG with the twos, I suspect fans have seen the last of him as a Dolphin.

Thomas gone?

Believe it, WHEN, i see it.

Interesting video of Tunsil answering media questions yesterday. Reporters repeatedly tried to bait him in questions whether he expected to start, but he deflected them all and kept his composure. No big ego. He was very low key. It is always interesting to see how the 1st round Draft picks handle themselves in front of the camera when challenging questions surface and Tunsil excelled.
While this is just a small vignette, after the shock of falling in the Draft where a number of teams avoided him like the plague, what I saw in yesterday's interview was a player focused on the task at hand and eager to show the coaches that he can contribute.

It's not that Thomas isn't a good guy, it's that he get gets blown up far too often, disrupts the offense and endangers other players, especially Tannehill.

Get his ass in there on Friday and keep him there. If he makes mistakes how else is he supposed to learn from them?

After his experiences during the draft, I am sure that Tunsil is very careful with his comments.

Was that the Tampa game? What a pathetic glimpse of the future that was.
