My only hope is that some of these preseason predictions for the OLine come to fruition and not get washed away like like tears in the rain.(I had to throw in that line from the original Blade Runner)

The Dolphins need Laremy Tunsil to be one of the top left tackles in the league. (Allen Eyestone/The Post)

DAVIE — The Dolphins’ philosophy on signing left guard Josh Sitton was twofold. Not only did they need to bulk up the interior of their offensive, but they believed he would instantly make left tackle Laremy Tunsil better.

The skill is there. I give him a partial pass for year 2, because of year 1. This year it's about him, does he want it?

Heard a lot of discouraging stuff about Tunsil last year.

He floundered with all the turmoil on the team. He tried to just utilize his talent to get him through on Sundays and performed like a jag in the process.

He definitely has had maturity issues in the past. Adding Josh Sitton was more than filling a hole. It was about getting a top veteran still playing at a high level to play next to him and to show Tunsil how to be professional in the process.

Tunsil has a $16+ million dollar per year opportunity awaiting him . . . .the time is now to make those advancements.

The offensive line coach last year was a mess as well. Tunsil could really take off this season.

It was a mess, but at this level to see a guy use that turmoil to limit his effort and not put his all into it . . . Is frustrating to see.

It’s just not college anymore. If he puts his all into it he will be handsomely rewarded for it.

And so will we.

I agree the talent is there. Now he has a veteran next to him as he did his rookie year. If he wants it then there's no reason for him not to be one of the best LT's in the NFL. We really need both out Tackles to play well this year. I believe the middle of the line will be fine. If we get good/great play from Tunsil and James then we'll have our best O-line since the early 80's imo.

My favorite part of the article is that Clifton and Tauscher and those guys taught Sitton, and now Sitton is giving tips to Tunsil. The Packers have been consistently good for about 25 years and they have had nice continuity.

Solidifying the O line - check

Upgrading leadership with Sitton and Amendola - check

Getting new position coaches to get the mistakes down - check

Having 17 back - check

Center LG and LT should be solid. The key to above average line is I think James/davis performance.

So what exactly is the writer saying about Tunsil? Is it that he didn't understand the play from a lack of study, or is the pace of the NFL too fast for him? Does he need better conditioning and preparation of his body for the grind of a 16 week season? Is he as dumb as a rock? What the hell is it with this kid? He was suppose to be a steal for us in the first round when he fell.

Note: His play hasn't been bad by any means, but it hasn't been light out either for a player of his caliber, is this just a normal learning curve for 1st and 2nd year players as it relates to becoming a professional? or did the Dolphins make a mistake by expecting too much from him too early.

Tunsil and Parker are in the same boat in that regard. Both have the talent to be so much better than what we've seen so far.

You feel as confident about the left side as I do the right side. Davis next to James is an instant upgrade. I believe our fans AND the FO will see the true benefit of interior play, especially G, this year. Having quality Gs really helps your Ts focus on the end in front of them.

This might be the best line we've had in quite a while. Shame on HC and FO for not addressing this sooner with quality pieces instead of scrap heap plugins.

I know nothing about playing left tackle other than to yell "can't you block you moron" at the television. That said, you do watch Tunsil and get the sense that he's a bit of an introvert and isn't going to be a team leader anytime soon. I suppose that doesn't have to be the end all, be all, but it could be helpful to get someone to play next to him that can take on those roles and let him just work on his craft.

He wasn't ranked by some to be the best player in his draft class for nothing.

If half the young talent on this team fulfills their potential, it's going to be a fun year...for once in a very long time.

Tunsil, Parker, Howard, Tank, Fitz, Drake, Ballage, Gesicki, Grant, Wilson, Baker, McMillan

Other than the rookies, we've seen glimpses but the ceiling here seems pretty high.

Health, health, health!!! Hopefully, depth is there too as injuries always hit!
