Hey guys,
I live here in Dallas and raised in Miami a die hard Dolfan. Wanted you to know that Larry Alan is going to test the free agent waters (Dallas Morning News 07-Feb-06)
Miami is one of a few teams with the O-line a top priority.
Alan is going to the pro-bowl ....... again. But he is old.
Thats why he might be a good pick because he could be cheaper than Bently or Hutchinson. Keep in mind what it would cost to get Bently.... minimum 8 million dollars in signing bonus. Hutchinson looks like Seattle wont give him up. He was too important to that running game.
So maybe Alan is a possibility worth considering. I would like to have him if the price is right. Imagine what that big Mofo would do for the running game.
One problem is Parcells might pay him to keep him. Dallas's O-line is in trouble as well.
Go Phins.......Screw Jerry Jones

Isn't he kinda old and fat?

Sorry for the spelling, I believe its Allen.
Yeah he's fat. But in the pro-bowl. I think hes about 370 lbs or something rediculous. You cant move the guy.

Larry Allen. Not bad if you get him only for a year or two with an incentive laden deal. I'm a bigger fan of making our big free agent splash with Hutchinson or Bentley, and I love Max Jean-Gilles. He might slide to the Fish in the 2nd round and he is a bruiser who goes about 340 already. He's only a few buffets short of 370 and really mean. Remember, Saban knows the SEC players and his three SEC picks from last year were all rookie starters. As an aside, did you notice how many SEC players were starting in the Superbowl? Three Steelers O-lineman and one Hawk O-lineman, plus Ward, Strong, Alexander, Manuel, etcetera... I think 9 or 10 of the starters were SEC. About 40%! Sorry for the digression.

I'm not a big fan of giving big money to any interior lineman, but Larry Allen wouldn't be bad. That guy can still move people lemme tell ya. Just be wary because he's kind of in the Nate Newton twilight of his career. Hudson Houck wishes he could actually find that next Larry Allen, funny that he actually might get the chance to grab Larry again.

Max Jean-Gilles would be a nice pickup if we somehow managed to get a low first rounder from the Broncos or Colts.

I think Dallas will keep him, if they gave him up they would need a miracle to get a decent oline before next season.

id love to have him and Fonoti at our guard positions...can you imagine that run blocking game from the guard positions

Correction

Just wanted to give out the specifics on this one.
Larry Allen is not yet an official UFA. He represents a 7.5 million dollars against the cap for next year, which the Cowboys probably will not pay. He is going to the pro-bowl so it is unlikely that he will resign another contract for less money due to his age. So look for him to be official come March or April.

Allen would be a good pick up, and so would Fonoti. Either one of them would be fine. Fonoti is younger and cheaper, but Allen is still a better OG, although a lot older.

Well, Nick did get some older guys last year but he said he wanted to get younger tho I think he was talking about his defence.....in any event,I think Nick could bring in a guard in free agency cos they're easier to get that OT's.....the draft is an option tho cos the guards always seem to drop and there're at least 3 or 4 that I'd take a look at from the 2nd till the 4th round.

Ozzy rules!!

My gut says too old and too expensive but damn...he's one of the biggest, strongest guys in the entire league. It'd be nice if we could get him for a bargain price.

Id love him on our team, he is old but he is a monster and can still play

And in great shape

Anyone see him at the pro bowl skills challenge? He did 43 reps

Thats 8 more than anyone else could
