great player, but i like Sintim a lot more. he is more complete and IMO can step in and play right away. i would love Sintim, but would'nt be upset by any means with English.

I think Sintim could be had in the 2nd round. I don't see him being a 1st round pick. Just my opinion though.
 
Man i dont know if English can cover but i know he can sure rush the passer... that guy would be sick on our D
 
Sintim struggled big time at the senior bowl. I dont think he is a 1st rd pick anymore.
 
English is a beast..

another interesting weight-in...

Aaron Maybin gained about 15-20lbs... 249 weigh-in.... he was in the low to mid 230lb...
 
English would a good addition to our defense. However, at that weight, there's a lot of 4-3 teams that might look at him as a DE as well now.

The knock on him is setting the edge and I wouldn't mind drafting him and let Matt Roth start out the year on the strongside until English is ready. Much like Merling with Vonnie Holliday last year.
 
The one thing about English that knaws at me is that we have Cam Wake already there and Roth as well. Do we really need English?

Here is the thing that keeps me coming back to this guy. Moves. He has a bigger repetoir of moves than most on this draft board. You have to wonder, especially now with more beef, that BP is invisioning his next LT. Now that is a very very tall order, but the guy has inside and outside moves down to a tee. I noticed that just in a few seconds in the Senior Bowl practices. I usually do not let my eyes deceive me.

The only thing is can he cover and recognize when he has to cover? That is probably the only thing we will wonder about him. But he could very well be the pass rusher in this whole bunch. He can put his hands in the dirt no prob at 275.

Your train of thought is right on, but I think that Cameron Wake is more suited to the role that Joey Porter currently has. Wake appears - and I use that loosely as of right now - to be more athletic than any LB we currently have on our roster, and with his speed, I don't see a reason to put him on the strongside where he'll have to battle a T and a TE most downs.
 
i also think that it is a good idea to have a coverage OLB, something we dont really have. Wake is a rusher, Porter-rusher, Roth-run stopper

My second thought I just had is at this current weight and 6'2",he is starting to remind me of the DE from Indianapolis. His name is escaping me which is sad since I am a Syracuse fan. Maybe he is looking to be a DE somewhere.

I've talked to a couple of my friends who also follow this closely, and two of them said that English's weight is a typo, and that he's more like 254 - I'm still trying to confirm it. I was stuck at a cousin's wrestling tournament for 6 hours today and couldn't watch live.

yeah, could be. I was just on the list of combine results thread and the DL stats not up yet.
 
I dont think english is 274lbs ... that must be a mistake.

Everette brown is another OLB I would love to have... you cant teach speed and explosiveness, you either have it or you dont.
