An immature kid that just needs time to mature OR is he a team cancer that the Chiefs need to part ways with?

My take, any man that consistently disrespects women or children is worthless on my team, if I'm Herm, I trade his ***, you aren't winning games anyway.

What do you guys think?

He'll turn 30 next season which seems to be a significant number with running backs. I doubt anybody would trade for him. Let's face it teams are now using a 2 running back approach. I think a guy like Johnson needs more carries to be more effective.

Plus with Goodell coming down hard on teams and players who'd take a chance aside from the Bengals?

At nearly 30 Y/O you are not a kid. I've lead "Kids" to the Iraq/Kuwait border to face down Saddam when he was still around. That guy is a turd. Always had been always will be. I'm surprised they didn't move him prior to the deadline, to tell the truth.

there is something going on with Johnson but I didnt hear the whole story but he and Herm Edwards got into something they are saying Goodell will suspend him for sure . that was from espn.

He's older, he just got a new contract, and he no longer cares about his public image (see: contract year happened!)

Apparantly he feels like he can do whatever he wants now.

LJ is a great back on his day. Two seasons ago when Priest Holmes went down he tore up the NFL. Even this season against the Broncos he showed he can still pound other teams.

Hard to know with him in fairness, on his day he can be very good, but I just dont think he cares anymore.

A) He's not 30. He's 28. 6 seasons in the NFL.

B) The most recent allegation is pretty bad. The "assault" that has been filed against him was for spitting his drink on a woman in a club. So no class points for him, but it isnt like he stabbed someone.

C) The allegation before that was for pushing a woman in a club, whose to say she wouldnt quit bothering him just because he was famous. A light push, to emphasize... "i'm not interested" can quickly become a law suit when your talking about an NFL player with money. Either way, no charges were ever actually filed. It was just an allegation. So should it really count?

D) Larry Johnson was a beast for 2 years. Then his Hall of fame offensive line began retiring. First Roaf, then Shields. I dont care how good of a running back you are, if your line is crap, and your getting hit initially behind the line of scrimmage, you arent going to run very far.

Basically the point is... for two years, he was better then he actually is. Any running back running behind Roaf, Shields, Wiegman, Waters... was going to get good numbers. Priest Holmes did, and then Larry Johnson picked up where he left off. So for two years, he looked better then he is.

For the last two years, he has looked worse then he is, because the line nwo is so awful. Fact is, you win games in the trenches. O Line and D Line. With an average O Line, Johnson is probably a 1300 to 1400 yards a year running back. But he definitely needs 20 to 25 carries a game.

This is my opinion but the point about having a good line down plays the significance of having a great RB. He'll turn 30 next season which was stated. While he doesn't IMO, have the miles of somebody getting 300 carries every year. He did set the record with 416 carries a few seasons back.

Since he was a backup and didn't start til a few years in 30 maybe not a huge number for him. Though his style of running as opposed to a Westbrook or Tiki Barber does hurt him.

I think he has quite abit left at runningback since he was not a starter all the years. KC has a bad line now so he has to work that much harder. He is kind of like Ricky in 2003.
