LaRussa taking a bullet for Pujols

Tom Verducci and some other reporters are saying the reason Pujols didn't hit in the 9th, is because he was in the clubhouse not in uniform.

Albert said today that he was in the "trainers room getting attention" at the time.

But the real report according to many reporters is that Albert gave up on the game and hit the showeres and put on street clothes. And LaRussa is taking the bullet for him and protecting him with the excuses he is giving to the media.

Damn man, I never thought this would be a big deal? Who cares? Its the bleepin all star game. I MIGHT care a tiny bit if the mets represent the NL in the WS and had the better record (therefore should be deserving of home field) but otherwise I couldnt give two deuces.
