I won't hold my breath, but this would actually be really awesome. Would have a great chance of watching the fins in Las Vegas.
In addition, the email states that officials with the Oakland Raiders are scheduled to tour Las Vegas as part of a search for a new home. UNLV was asked to meet with Raiders officials at the 42-acre site
The NFL recently rejected a bid to move the Raiders to Los Angeles. The team is currently without a lease in Oakland and is said to be considering several cities for relocation, including San Antonio

I don't know how Vegas would do with a permanent team but I can assure you that San Antonio would be a fantastic landing spot for an NFL team. They would love the Raiders, especially if they won a little bit.

I think a permanent team would do fantastic here. This city has grown rapidly in the last 10 years, so the "home grown" people have to look at other cities to root for. Tons of people have to choose between the cali/Denver/az teams. Current population in Clark county is just over 2 million people. San Antonio (Bexar county) has around 1.9mil. Plus the fact that i'm sure a ton of them are deep rooted in dallas/Houston fans.

And lastly, I think Las Vegas Raiders has a better ring to it, than San Antonio Raiders.

My biggest gripe, is that I don't understand what having an NFL team and gambling being in the same location has to do with anything. Which seems to be the biggest issue with the NFL, and why they won't have a team in Las Vegas.

Atlanta has legalized gambling, they have a team.

Nearly every tribe in Washington State has at least one casino, Seattle has a team.

Indiana has over a dozen casinos, they have a team.

Louisiana parties at casinos, they have a team.

Illinois and Missouri have riverboats, they each have a team.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania have legalized gambling, and they each have TWO teams.

Rebels and Raiders would fit well together.

Don't forget Miami has Hard Rock and Miccosukee casinos

I didn't realize Vegas had grown that much. I would imagine that both cities would be excellent landing spots. There's a lot of history with the Texans and Cowboys here, for sure, but the population would still embrace a new team.

The NFL needs to get its head out of its ass on gambling. I bet on sports, including the NFL all the time

Vegas would be cool. I think Portland needs a team to be honest. The west and west coast in general is underutilized by the NFL.

No doubt. Never been to Portland but it seems like a place I would love.

The POS Davis family shouldn't be allowed to move the Raiders at all anymore. How often can you move a franchise?
They are now on track of moving the Raiders every 10-12 years. Government money runs out - move.

If I'd be Vegas I would reject - as a fan - an NFL franchise with the Davis family as ownership.
