I don't know what's worse going to watch a bunch of highly Intelligent sea mammals in laughably small enclosure preform stupid tricks for kids and white trash adults or having to watch a professional football team continuous fail to meet expectations that hasn't been able to crack the first round of the playoffs in almost 2 decades.

they should do a documentary on the dolphins organization , Black Fish 2 the lost dolphins

The Dolphins organization supporting these whale torturers!?

OT Rant coming; Im pretty sure only 2 of them in that tank was taken from the wild at this point...if you didnt realize they shouldnt be in a tank before that movie then you are an ignorant sheep (not a personal attack, just attacking anyone who saw the movie and started saying eff sea world without hearing that they rescue 20k plus birds a year, not to mention turtles, dolphins and other whales)...

at the same time sea world has done more for the conservation of orca's than any other group...if you didnt see them would you care about them?

Ive seen dolphins in the wild and they are amazing, Ive seen whale sharks in the atlantic and they are amazing, I have seen sharks in the wild and they are amazing...

I have never seen a killer whale in the wild and if it wasnt for sea world I probobly wouldnt care about them. I have never seen manta rays in the wild and if it wasnt for atlantis I wouldnt care...seeing something up close gives you a personal connection to them...IF sea world put a couple of minke whales in a tank in orlando, the japanese would halt whaling activities yesterday because the public would be so against them...as it is you are complaining about a whale doing tricks as opposed to a sentient animal being hunted and eaten...

If you want your heart to be torn out of your chest, there is a real doc about dolphins called The Cove. Be warned.

I have a love/hate relationship with Sea World. As a kid I was taken there many times. I loved it. It was one of the things that inspired me to pursue biology as a career. I'd like to think that it does that for children that attend to this day. The problems I have with Sea World aren't just the ethical ones toward the animals they keep, but the fact that they pretend to do research (they never publish anything) and they treat their employees worse than the whales/dolphins. I can't support that. For all the good they do, they do more bad. next-year, you have good points, but there are other ways people can be inspired by these animals. If Sea World one day closes their doors, will they see them in person? Probably not. Not everything should interact with humans. We do enough damage to these creatures from a distance anyway.

They need to put an end to the orca program, it's the right thing to do. They can still aid orcas in the wild, there's no reason at all, other than money, to keep them in captivity so they can splash water on visitors.

Keeping any animals in captivity unless it for rehabilitation IMO is wrong. I would never step one foot inside Sea World or the Seaquarium.

These animals are hunted in the wild or at the very least "were" hunted in the wild endangering complete pods of whales and dolphins.

I say **** Sea World and any other similar place.

The problem with Sea World doing the right thing is that the company is publicly owned, which means they doing the ethically right thing will be done only if they shareholders elect to do it (which means if if will be most profitable). Since right now Sea World makes money by torturing these animals, it'll be business as usual.

Better get rid of dogs, cats, birds, lizards, dragons, snakes and fish if you don't believe that animals should live in captivity and remain wild. Can't have it one way and be holier than thou.

Sea world just like Miami Dolphins is a business that makes big money, why should they just tear their business apart because you think they should because it's the en vogue thing to claim, yet almost everyone has a pet they've domesticated on a smaller level. If animals are to be free and not held captive then it should be that way across the board whether they are a pet or if they are a service animal!

No way in hell will I give up my dog!

Agreed. Even without the Orca whales, its still the best park in central Florida. Everyone I know that frequents the parks here just skip the stupid orca show anyways.
