Everybody is talking about Ronnie but what has happened to our other Draft picks Channing Crowder has done a good job but has happened to Matt Roth who was supposed to be a steal in the 2nd round

hes playing behind 2 pro bowl DEs....hes done well when he gets in on run stoping situations.....give it some time he will get better

Crowder is playing good, however he draws too many stupid personal fouls. Matt Roth has been invisible. Daniels is doing OK. Ronnie has definately been our rookie of the year though.

he has some studs in front of him and still has a lot of learning to do..

Daniels is starting, Alabi and Vickerson are still learning (Vickerson is hurt)

Roth has been a disappointment, but how can he even see the field when Carter and Taylor are the two starters? He also is behind David Bowens who is a solid, not great, but solid backup DE. Crowder has the advantage of playing at a position where there is a opening. Roth is playing at a very deep position. Crowder was a HUGE steal and will be starting for us for years. Roth could be too, but we just don't know yet. Give him some time.

Roth gets brought up alomst everyday. he is a rookie playing behind very good players. I saw someone say he was a bust yesterday, and i was extremely mad. give the guy at least 2 years b4 you label him. Look at guys like P. Homles that were playing behind really good players and when he got his chance he broke out

I've read 2 articles from outside writers that say they are fairly impressed with Roth on obvious running downs when he comes in.

I remember one of them saying that he was doing a lot better than the Pro Bowl DE Holliday who was getting pushed around.

I think we just need to see a bit more of him which will happen next year if he has a good TC or we let go Holliday.

A LOT of people did not like Roth because of his short arms.

Some evaluators think he is too much of a tweener.I think he will find a place on this team eventually but I think it will be in a situational role not as a full time starter.

Overall last years draft is the best one we have had in many years.Also I can remember a draft where all of our draftees have made the final roster.

I'm almost positive that Saban plans on making Roth a 290 pound DE in the 3-4. Think Aaron Smith from the Steelers. Roth has already showed he can stop the run effectively even at (270?) pounds. He will gain some weight in the off-season and work on some pass-rushing techniques. I'm actually really confident that Roth will be a great player for us.
