It's insane to talk playoffs with the team playing how it is. But the general consensus is this team is playing below its talent level. So on that note.

Right now the fifth seed in the AFC belongs to the Jets. The sixth seed? Belong to four teams all tied at 2-2. Two of which we still play. Chargers and Bills.

So at 1-3 the season hopes of playoffs is not completely unrealistic if an interim coach can spark the team to play up to their level.

Is that likely to happen? Doubtful. But if the bottom was going to ever fall out from Philbin, at least it happened this early and right at the bye to maybe spark something back to life. 12 games don't have to go wasted. Even if they likely will.

So there's some optimism likely to get lost in the chaos of defeat. Very modest, doubtful, heavily misguided optimism. But I see a glimmer of it every week on the field in Jarvis Landry, and I can only hope it rubs off someday to this franchise.

Only way I see it happening is if Miami wins all their remaining home games and four road games. In other words it's not going to happen. Find a few players to focus on and enjoy. Maybe hope for a few entertaining games. But fans whose only enjoyment is watching Miami go to the playoffs should stop watching now.

It's going to be like watching a bad movie. Maybe you can find enjoyment from an acting performance or a good soundtrack in an otherwise dreadful show.

lol, the last 4 years we've seen these thread, funny every time. It's over. Failbin won't even get fired.

The last four years? The last 15 years! But in a league of parity and cycles, it's bound to happen. Right? Right? Anybody? No. Ok.

All I'm saying is 1-3 in a Conference full of 2-2's isn't asking for a miracle 10-0 run to have a shot at a 6th seed wildcard.

Again, not likely, but it's not like we're 4-9 amongst 9-4's. Not yet....

We are 1-3 in the "easy" part of our schedule. Remember those 5-1, 6-0 talks? ..... Good times.

I'm very very sorry that you feel this way my friend. Try not to let the pain burn to hard.

And what's the 'hard' part of the schedule? Don't forget to adjust for the reality of other teams. The 'hard' part includes the Colts, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles.... Not as hard as it seemed a month ago. Not easy, but don't pretend it's still as hard as everybody thought...

Doesn't bode well for the #Dolphins: there hasn't been a single team that lost in London that has finished the year with a winning record.

Obviously the Dolphins are still in it. The ****ing Redskins are tied for first in their division. That tells you teams are still in it. But will the defense suddenly get better? Will the offense actually score points early/often? Maybe, but I think only under new coaching.

The bills slapped us hard eight days ago...we responded by just turning the other cheek
