Practice Squad
Aug 4 Gus Frerotte, who played under new Dolphins offensive coordinator Scott Linehan when both were with the Vikings, believes the Dolphins passing game will be much-improved this season. Asked by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel how often he or A.J. Feeley (a starter has not been named yet) would throw downfield, Frerotte said, "A lot. A lot more than you guys are used to. Think back to when Dan [Marino] was in his prime and throwing the ball. That's what this offense does. I'm not saying it's going to be every play, but we are going to take advantage of situations."
Evidently, Frerotte hasn't seen tapes of the pathetic Dolphins offense a year ago. The apparently delusional signal-caller also compared receiver Chris Chambers to Randy Moss in the same breath that he compared this year's offense to the juggernaut led by Dan Marino in the 1980s. For a Dolphins quarterback to have time to throw deep, he'll first have to remain upright for longer than two seconds, which could be a chore with an offensive line that is a work in progress, to put it kindly. While the offense certainly has more playmakers and a year of experience under its belt from last year's grotesque unit, don't expect a viable fantasy quarterback to develop in Miami this season.
i found this on my fantasy football website for a news update for feeley. This is total crap i wish i could figure out who wrote this becuase obviously he hasnt been reading nastys reports or he'd know that we are looking a lot better this year and that was a very big thing gus did comparing this year to dan marino in his prime thats some big shoes to fill. i guess this guy is just a New Englander and scared of us this year to say some hurt full this like this.
