Lawrence Sidbury, DE/OLB - Richmond

he looks skinny but measured 6' 2 3/8" 266 at the combine

he must have bulked up some

He's smart as heck, too. He's a computer science major, with a minor in mathematics. He volunteers teaching geometry to kids in the area. As a project for his computer science major he developed a computer program that uses a database he developed from watching films of other college programs, along with field conditions, down and distance, formation, etc...to predict play calls. His coaches at Richmond actually used something like it and it was pretty successful.

Plus his coach was Brandon London's dad.

So right now, I'm liking everything I see and here about this kid, but I still have one question.
Why is he only a late 2nd rounder/3rd rounder? Is it just because he played D-1AA or is there something else that is giving him a lower rating overall?

I love this kid....his only real knock was that sometimes he disappeared. NEVER in a big game mind you, but he did have some very quiet games.

I'd love to get him....he's a quality kid and seemed like he was very coachable. I think Sporano could push this kid into something special. I'd grab him with our second 2nd pick, no problem

I've been mentioning this guy for the past month or two. I reallllly like this kid.

Long arms, big, perfect weight, fast strong and an array of moves

He's got a lot of work to do. Struggled against Virginia. I think he needs confidence in what he's doing. Doesn't get off blocks and make plays that well.

I think he'll be a better pro.

He'll kind of have to be... Coming from a smaller school it would make sense that he would need a confidence boost. I think this guy has a tremendous upside to him.

This is why the draft is so great, at 25 do you take C.Barwin and a CB later or do you take D.Butler and Sidbury later. Decisions, decisions... another good reason why predicting who Miami takes becomes impossible when you have to take in account 1000 other variables that come into play.
