Lets face it... there are some teams out there that are worse than the dolphins. If we win today vs the broncos we could possibly just be a bottom 5 team. The difference between the 1st and the rest is Andrew Luck. The difference between this year and every other year is.... Landry Jones, Matt Barkley, and The Third
*robert griffin*...

So, as you see, Miami is in great position to get their franchise quarterback this season. You can either get the next for sure thing in Luck, or get Landry (strong arm) Jones, or mr. cool Matt Barkley, or the explosive accurate strong armed Robert Griffin!!!!!!

Has anyone ever seen Robert Griffin throw? I mean, the guy has arm strength out of this world. Not to mention he was a finalist for the Olympics for the Hurdles. Something about Mr. Third that yall dont know... Hes probably more accurate throwing the deep ball than senior' Luck!

Check out this video footage against TCU...

With rumors of Gruden wanting to run a spread offense with a dual threat at quarterback, rg3 could be the future.

I like Robert Griffin III too, but he is not very tall (which would lead to a lot of batted balls), and they don't run a pro style offense which means that he would have a ton of growing pains to go through.

It was absolutley sick last night watching CFB

luck on abc, barkley on fox, and landry jones later after the weather delay.

honestly, I'd be happy with all three.

You lost me with the statement about some teams being worse then the Dolphins. Do you mean in the NCAA because I can think of none in the NFL.

S4L screams "being disappointed". Either we don't get the first overall pick, the guy becomes injury prone when he gets in the NFL or Luck demands to be traded. This is the Fins we are talking about . . . these things never go right. Just root for your team, let the results happen and at the end of the year we can analyze this with more conviction.

In other years though you can't really call them excuses, the reasoning for not selecting a first round QB was:

2001: Passed on Drew Brees for Fletcher because Fiedler led us to the playoffs the previous year and Miami felt they could win w/ him
2005: Passed on Aaron Rodgers because Saban was a SEC freak and we just traded a 2nd for Feeley the previous year
2006: Passed on Brees again because the injury coin flip between him and Culpepper flipped Culpepper and his leg injury was better than Brees and his shoulder injury
2006: Passed on a potential trade up for Cutler because we traded a 2nd round pick for Culpepper, which would have been the ammo needed.
2007: Quinn/Beck = stalemate . . . bad, bad, bad year for QBs.
2008: Passed on Ryan because Beck was a previous year 2nd round pick, Jake Long was going to be the face of the identity of a "power running team" and they liked Flacco and Henne just as much. Flacco was gone at 32, Henne was around with the 2nd 2nd rounder
2009: Passed on a trade up for Freeman because we just made the playoffs the year before with Pennington and Henne was being groomed
2010: Passed on Tebow because Henne was going into first year starting from the beginning and its Tim Tebow.
2011: Passed on a boatload of QB's because Henne was given another chance to take charge with a change of offensive philosophy.

2012: Really no excuses. Henne is out of contract, a new regime will be in, Moore is a backup and Sage is a journeyman. Devlin is a UDFA. Miami HAS to take a QB here. No realistic upside or proven results QB anywhere on this team. People screaming S4L need to come to realize that there is a good chance he "won't" be a Dolphin next year and embrace the other options as well as I'm hopeful we look at everybody and make the right decision. It is gonna take more than Andrew Luck anyways. Peyton Manning, Brett Favre have 1 Super Bowl . . . Marino had none . . . all time great QB's don't mean all time great success . . . we need to find a solid QB, solid GM, solid HC and get this ship turned around and whether that QB is Luck, Barkley, Jones, RGIII or whoever . . . I'm hopeful we make the right choice.
