LB core sucks at coverage...June to help?

I think we need a lb like June to come in and be our WLB and move CC to either MLB or maybe, JUST MAYBE to SLB. Whenever i have seen him blitz, he has decked the QB to the floor hard and i say june b/c our LB core is horrible against the pass. they suck especially ZT and CC. so by getting june and moving CC to MLB and drafting a SLB (I like Woodley or Adams but woodley reminds me a lot of Merriman) we may have a good LB core that can cover a bit better. I doubt we spend top notch money on a LB ala Briggs or somethingbut i can see June at WLB and CC at MLB.
 
Cato June takes on blocks in a slightly more effective fashion than my grandmother. He's maybe a safety in the Dolphins defense.
 
lol........besides he's undersized and coach nick is looking to beef up on the defense
 
oo i see. i said that b/c he tends to ahve a good nose for the INT's.
 
The Tampa-2 defense utilizes undersized LBs. Cato was the starting SS for Michigan in college which is why his coverage skills & nose for the ball are so good.
 
Why do ?'s like this always arise after ZT and CC have a helluva game. Did you see Damon Huard's numbers? Besides don't we have the number 1 defense now?! Time to give the linebacking core some props for once.
 
Beat me to it but Cato June would play CB in the Saban system if anything.

Saban loves the big beefy athletic freaks. Zach Thomas will be the last LB on this team under 6'2 240 with a 4.6.
 
i know everyone thinks that zach sucks in pass coverage but in the top 30 tacklers list there are only 2 players with more deflected passes then him antonio pierce with 8 and nick barnett with 9, zach has 7, cato june only has 3, june also has 2 intercepts but zach also has 1

asuming those numbers u put out were meaning he is the last wiht that size.

wlel he is 5' 9 218 i believe htis year and now ay near 4.6. at best 4.8 if u ask me.
 
they don't suck at coverage at all... maybe your just looking 2 hard for something to complain about ?!!? Sure Gonzo had his usual game vs. us... but i see no reason to sign a 4-3 coverage LB to a pretty big deal when we could draft a suitable LB that's 5 years younger.

and maybe u just aren't reading anything. i did say that. get June (but not now considering he is smaller then ZT) at wlb and CC and MLB and draftee at SLB. i said that earlier dude.

Regardless of whether or not June fits the system, are you saying that you think Zach is done after this season? Does anyone else think that?

June would be a very bad fit for this defense. If we would build a unit solely based on speed first yeah and would be better slated as a SS. In this defense there is no room for this. On the other hand I would love to get Briggs. But most probably our unfavourable sal cap position will make it hard to go after premier LBs asking for buko money this coming year.
