It seems possible we might have 3 new (old) LB's take the field this weekend. Anthony, Rey and Timmons are healthy and seem ready to play. Let's forgive and move past the Timmons' fiasco, Rey seems to be back to better conditioning and health and Anthony should be out to prove his worth. With a better LB core for the running game, perhaps our DE's could just focus on Brees and creating pressure. Not sure this helps our CB's/safeties.

Maualuga practiced, but I doubt he plays unless in-game injuries seriously compromise depth.

I would almost bet Anthony doesn't get much time either unless there is a blow out. While it can be argued that Anthony might have some special insight into the Saints offense, it can also be argued that the Saints know exactly how to attack Anthony.

Finally, given that the Saints are likely to try to exploit the defense through the passing game, I imagine we will be playing a majority of snaps in the nickel. I see Alonso and Timmons dominating snaps.

certainly possible, but not holding my breath on Mauluaga...I think Anthony can help in in the middle or Sam on 1st and 2nd downs...timmons I hope is a major boost after what he did to the team

And how long has it been now since Timmons stepped onto the field in an actual game?

I hope he plays well, but he is older, has something going on in his head and he has not touched the field for a while. I fear he may not be all we hoped for; at least not in this game.

True but that pick he had in one of the preseason games was sweet. Let's hope there's some of that.

Trying to find a silver lining going into the game. Can't see us keeping up with Brees unless we get a few turn-overs and Cutler/Ajayi control the game on offense.

can't expect any INT's from our defense when our DB's never seem to be close to any footballs. Let's be honest, every WR's seems to be open by 10 yards on every play

Ozzy rules!!

doesn't matter how many we have ready but how good they actually play. We'll find out soon

Ozzy rules!!

If the Saints catch balls over the middle, the linebackers have got to hit them hard and let them know that there will be a price to pay for that success.

I can't help but feel that at some point this season Cutler is going to catch fire and put up a monster game. Something like 400 plus yards and 4 tds. Maybe this week?? Doubt but here's to hoping!!
