In his recent article for the Herald Dan Le Batard writes "The once-proud Miami Dolphins open training camp in a week, and the core glue to any fan base is the emotion of hope, but that trust has been fractured.Promise?
Broken."

I don't know which fans Le Batard talked to, but reading the posts here at FH, I would say exactly the opposite. Fans are eagerly expecting the season, and the expectations are that even if we're not ready to win the SB YET, we'll see improvement over the previous years.

Do you agree with Le Batard?

I think most have positive vibes to cautiously optimistic.

But there will always be the few negative fans that you can never make happy.

No. Who in their right mind would ever agree with that idiot about anything? I'd disagree with him if he told me the sun was going to rise tomorrow.

I usually agree with LeBatard on most things, but his assertion that Cam and Randy botched the DC deal is ridiculous.

I don't think it's one of these two extremes. I think a better description for most fans are "cautious optimism". I think the past disappointments have scarred most of us and we are all hoping that things are going to turn around this year. Regardless of al the opinions of loving/hating the moves so far, I think everyone is hoping they pay off in a lot of "W's" this year.

This guy Lebetard is wierd and impossible. I heard him on the radio a few days ago - around the time Daunte was released - HE WAS SO NEGATIVE! and it was in the worst way - as if he represents Miami and is a real insider! This guy is a creep!

I think there is alot of negative vibes engulfing the fins..More than enough..and its quite pitiful/pathetic IMHO...If you don't like, enjoy, support the Dolphins, then why are you supposedly making yourself suffer by being a sole called fan. Why put all your attention into something, that ultimately, you feel will not work

Was he not one of the guys that at the beginning of last year was slamming Culpepper and saying we should have got Brees?

Cautiously optimistic is the way to be.

Some fans will ONLY be positive when they are aggressively supporting something negative.

You know, here is a GREAT point...If there is a journalist who just spews a bunch of fictional crap that the majority of people disagree with. If they are just bashing for the sake of bashing with no real substance at all...What we can do is stop listening to this person, stop listening to their radio shows, stop reading their stories, stop listening to their broadcasts, in effect they will become less and less popular, their ratings will drop, and they will eventually get fired or terminated.

Alot of these guys talk like Howard Stern, just talk to be negative because it pis*** people off and people retort. Thats what these moronic journalists want us to do, and it works for them...Stop reading his articles and listening to his braodcasts and he will eventually go away. I cannot stand Le Batard, every single thing I have ever heard from him is always negative and thats just how he wants it...Everyone is playing right into his hands

Although Lebatard is over the top, most of what he is saying is true. Him being over the top, is what makes him successful.

Just bc most on this site are overly optimistic, doesnt mean that most the fanbase is on board. Ive seen more aqua colored glasses here than when talking to other finfans.

Maybe some of the locals are the ones he's talking. The ones, like me, who don't have access to the Phins 24/7 like you Florida brothers aren't bombarded with the negativity I'm sure that's down there.

The only access out of towners have is the Florida papers, this site, and maybe other sports sites (Yahoo, NFL.com).

The fact that we don't have premium access like you guys IMO makes being excited about the season a lot more joyful then you guys.
