Le Batard interviews Adam Gase

a summary would be appreciated

I can say this: Gase knows Tannehill needs a line. Very blatant about it. Gase was asked what he needs to improve with Tannehill and he quickly deflected the question and turned it into its a team effort not one guy can do it alone etc.....They asked him why he chose Miami because of all the other offers and interviews he went on and he basically said Miami was the job he wanted all along so he went through the process until he got an offer. Also was asked what questions HE asked the FO. He just wanted to know what really went wrong during our season and acknowledged NE has been running the show for the last 10 years. Called Belichek one of the best ever if not the best. Also said he was very impressed by Chris Grier and he has known Tannenbaum for some time through various NFL circles.

Also Gase revealed he is actually pretty close with Campbell as they were together in Detroit. In fact they texted through the season, and saw each other just today. They were both in the building during the interview process as Campbell was still employed I'm guessing and he commended Campbell for his job this season.

There could be more but I missed the beginning

Gase said he is NOT a QB Guru. Fortunate to work with Peyton and Cutler.Gase was asked what he does best and he quickly responded by saying adjustments and putting players in position to succeed. I'm hoping this means we won't see any more linebackers in coverage on the boundary.

I'm so glad he pushed back against a label that I think is one of the silliest in sports. If you look around football at guys who get this label, it's usually because they are able to put the quarterback in a position to be successful, not because they are able to magically make the player smarter or more athletic.

The Jay Cutler I saw in 2015, for instance, was the same Jay Cutler I've seen in the past. Adam Gase simply put him in positions where he was able to play to his strengths, had open receivers, had manageable third downs, and had a very consistent running game to slow the pass rush.

Impressive if it's true that he wanted this job all along. Makes the organization look fantastic if the most highly regarded candidate wanted to be in Miami rather than any of the other open spots.

I suspect that it helped that we sacked our coach at the start of the year and probably quietly made contact with him a long time ago

In my opinion Miami was the best job available. Sure you could argue the Giants for many reasons but that team in general is going down hill. I mean Eli couldn't win that division?? Really?????????? So either way you look at it Miami was a top 2 choice around the league because Kelly totally decimated Philly's roster and the other teams do not have pieces in place like we do.

Talks about how he likes the defensive talent, and the offensive skill players.

Defensive Talent = Suh, Reshad Jones, Cam Wake

Offensive= Jarvis Landry, Ryan Tannehill, Devante Parker & Maybe Lamar Miller

he seems like a logical person and knows what is happening around the league.

Adams sounded a lot more confident and in control deflecting possible negative comments and avoiding going into controversy with Dan.

He's growing on me but I still hope they add an old vet as OC. Just someone that's been there he can bounce ideas off of.

No Cruz, all OBJ, and no running game. Plus, that defense was atrocious.
NYG good or bad, have something this franchise hasn't had in decades. And those Coughlin teams never flinched against Brady teams. But hey you started your statement with 'in my opinion'. I just disagree with the roses your sniffing. Miami has a long way to go.
