Churchill had Gallipoli, Ford had a number of failed businesses, and Lincoln, too, had several failed campaigns and businesses. Maybe we could give Gase more than two games to figure things out. And please stop whining about Tannehill. Even if he's the worst QB ever(which I don't think he is). there's not a lot to do about it till the offseason. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride, or do something with your kids on Sunday.

You get 10,000 internet points for working Gallipoli onto a Dolphins message board post. And I agree with your larger point. The off season was primarily focused on fixing the offense, and we went bargain basement shopping to patch the defense. The offense looks like it has taken some strides, and I have confidence that under Gase it will make more through he season. Hopefully they can address most of the ills when it comes to personnel on the defense this upcoming off season. Until then hopefully the O can win enough games for us to be in playoff contention later in the year. It is supposed to be a work in progress for the new coach at this point.

A number of us have been saying since the Gase hire this team should be judged on the last 8 games. Too many new pieces to integrate quickly, particularly with the 'Hawks and Pats on the road as the 1st two games. That said, and knowing the players are a significant part of the problem, I hope Gase and VJ learn from THEIR mistakes. O is too conservative in 1H. Playing a dink and dunk O soft? Has VJ never seen a Pats game? Wanting to start with a run game when the O should start with a pass game? And why did it take VJ THREE TDs to figure out the Pats' game plan? Yeah, there are mistakes, but the coaches are as much to blame as the players. I think 8 games is about right.

Is that on VJ or Gase? Seems to me that our HC should game plan the opponent.

That being said 8 games is fair to judge although I prefer 16 to see how we finish.
