I do not understand why everyone complains about JT dancing. Why is it that we cannot let our players do what they like in the offseason? I understand that JT is our highest profile player, but everyone should look at him dancing as him working out and keeping in shape. And yes there have been reports of what great shape he is in b/c of the dancing, and what terrible shape some of our other players are in since they have not done much since the season ended. You should be proud that a player of ours is putting our team in the spotlight for something other than a terrible 07 season. Now if everyone wants to complain about players and what they do in the offseason, I feel it should be done regarding players who get in trouble with law(bengals). Otherwise, leave the guy alone! And if he is trying to build an acting career for when he retires, good for JT. If you think that is wrong, it is like saying, I can't believe you are planning for your future, who would do such a thing? Support your players and your team, and give them the respect and privacy they deserve.

After a 1-15 season, he should be the first one in the weight room and the last one out. He's a leader in our locker room. He shouldn't be out twinkle-toeing around.

One more thing:
Dancing has nowhere near the same physical demands that football does. I don't know about you, but I have yet to see JT take on a 315 pound left tackle on that damn show.

people think all the players spend the entire offseason working on football when the fact is its probably like 15% that do... hes in great shape and he'll be done with that **** in a couple weeks in time for all mandatory offseason work...

i personally dont watch the dancing with the stars, and i dont care... but im sure its a better workout than what he would be doing if he wasn't there...

why does it matter if hes using the dolphins work out complex or just getting his workouts on his own in his own way?

people used to applaud ricky for his different things he did with the yoga and all that... this dancing is great aerobic exercise for him and hes in fine shape.... does it matter that hes not doing i at the dolphins complex?

What if he slips and blows out a knee? It is almost the same as Rothlisburger and the motorcycle. You really can't tell Jt no but would you rather have a guy training for football the way he has his entire life or learning how to dance? I mean dancing is not easy and it takes a different type of stamina and he may get in good shape but is it football shape

so what if he tears a pectoral muscle in the gym working out... what kind of hypothetical is that?

people can slip jogging or doing anything... are you really comparing dancing to riding a motorcycle with no helmet????

I don't hate JT for dancing. I just think that someone that wants to win SO MUCH would spend a little less time on the dance floor and more time in the weight room. Now I haven't heard anything about his workout schedule for the offseason. If someone can get me some info about what he's doing to stay in shape, I might change my view. So far, though, all I have is JT wanting a Super Bowl, demanding trades behind the scenes, dancing in front of a national audience and neglecting his offseason workouts. And once again, there is NO WAY that dancing has the same physical demands as football. If you want the rest of America to love you, then retire and move on into your acting. If you want to play football, then play some football and make sure that youre ready when camps come around. That's all that I, as a FinFan, can ask.

Thank you arsenal. You are 100% right.Jason Taylor has every right to do whatever he wants in his offseason. For those who complain that he should be in the weight room and doing *voluntary* training camp,Michael Strahan rarely does any of that and he lead the Giants to a Super Bowl last year.I bet no one was questioning his commitment then.
This is really getting blown out of proportion.JT will be done with DWTS on May 20.That leaves June,July and August.Unless I am misinformed, that is almost three monthes before the season starts.Three monthes JT will undoubtedly be spending working out with the team.
One thing people don't seem to realize is that competitive dance is extremely hard work. They work 8 or more hours a day. While it may not prepare JT for tackling it will definately help him with footwork and precision and I would be willing to bet he will be in the best shape of his career by the start of the season.
Leave the guy alone. He has more than paid his dues and has earned his respect in this league and on this team.

I am complaining because he is training his body for something that is not Football related. He is Skinny! I am sick of hearing how great of shape he is in. A left tackle is going eat him for lunch. It looks like he cant weigh more than 220 pounds, that will not work for a d-end. I respect JT amd everything he has done on and off the field up to this point. But this is selfish, this is him getting his name out so that he has a post NFL career. Its Bull****!

That's the thing, i haven't heard of him working out this offseason. All I've heard about is his dancing. What else is he doing to keep in football shape? This is the guy that some of us are expecting to get Jake Long ready. There are much more productive things that JT could be doing for the FOOTBALL TEAM, like workouts with the rookies. Instead, our veteran and "leader" is thousands of miles away dancing on national stage. I just don't agree with it. If I'm the leader of my locker room, I'm going to be there to help out the new guys when they're learning our system because I NEED TO LEARN IT TOO.

Like I said, I just feel that JT should be here trying to make this 1-15 team better, and I feel that Parcells did the right thing in giving JT the cold shoulder when he came around. He's not some king that's going to be worshipped in the Fins facilities. Everyone else is working their ***** off to get better next year. I think JT needs to be there to get better as well.

I highly doubt that he's working harder dancing than if he was at Camp running 300 yd sprints every day...in the Florida heat.

lol@you thinking any players are doing that... i think he missed one voluntary camp... and thats all he is going to miss... players aren't doing these things everyday during the offseason... you guys have a false perception of what goes on...

they are in the complex using the gym because of course they are going to work out... some though will work out other places, some will do other things... JT says hes in the best shape hes been in an offseason, hes been a dominant player for us for many many years, and you guys are going to just say hes lying?

you know how many players gain weight from eating bad, or doing nothing aerobic during the offseason... sure they are at the gym weight training everyday, but that doesn't mean they are doing everything they need to do to get into football shape... im sure JT is in better football shape right now than most of our roster...

i agree we should leave JT alone. the guy has been our best player for the past 12 years do you think that all of a sudden hes going to forget to play football because hes dancing? i mean seriously thats ridiculous. its not like if JT needs to practice he knows what hes doing out on the football field, and as of right now its not mandatory for him to be here. and when the time comes he will be here, and he will play 100% just like he always has.
