i just wanted to get your thoughts on leftwich. he's unsigned as of now. his ankles should be healed adequately. the longer he sits unsigned the cheaper he's gonna be. i mean if we can sign him to a year deal for a little more then base salary i think its a steal. he's a proven winner as long as he has decent talent around him. what do you guys think?

Only problem is he wouldn't have decent talent around him if he came here. Not to mention we've already signed McCown. No thanks.

He's like 25 and moves like Marino when he was at 35. Look at how much better of a football team the Jags are without him, that tells me all I need to know.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to bring a guy like Dilfer in? Obviously he isn't the answer at QB, as I doubt he'd make much of a push to start, but he's got Super Bowl experience and he's provide a little bit of leadership (and experience in general) to the QB group.

Amen to that. Once I saw Gerrard play, I was wondering why Leftwich still had a job.

To best answer this question, just look at what happened last year in Atlanta. He couldn't beat out Joey Harrington and Redmond for the starting QB role in Atlanta. Why on earth would we want to bring him here ?

Thats funny, we take a QB who couldn't beat out another QB (Harrington), who wasn't good enough to play for the Dolphins. Sounds like something Spielman and Bumstadt would do.

Actually McCown didn't get beat out by Culpepper, he got injured. But I'm not saying he's our answer at the QB spot either. I think he will be a decent stop-gap and/or back-up and be OK with that role, which is not what many of these guys wanted when they came here. I know McCown feels like he has an open competition, etc., etc. but there's no way he can think he's a long-term solution unless he suddenly blossoms into a great QB.

No thanks to Byron Leftnut. Hes garbage at a young age. The guy is a turtle in the pocket. His throwing motion is also at a turtle's moving speed just like his legs. By far, the worst African American running Quarterback.
